Galacticare is a very pleasant tycoon that doesn’t force you to pause the game to attend to a million little annoying things. Neither is it a very complex game, where a single mistake might bury your hospital for good and send you to the “Game Over” screen. It is a leisurely, unhurried but enticing overall.
Great little management game with fantastic writing and awesome voice acting. Can see that that people who made this were fans on the original Startopia with lots of cool references. Really fun with many great QOL features like easy to move & copy existing buildings check where waiting queues are tool long etc. Highly recommend.
Clearly inspired by Theme Hospital and Two Point Hospital, Galacticare takes humorous hospital management into deep space. Building the perfect hospital and helping patients from a range of species is every bit as enjoyable as its inspirations, and with high production values, there's a lot to like. Some of its humour might not quite land, but we think if you're a Theme Hospital fan, Galacticare is a no-brainer.
Galacticare blasts Theme Hospital off into outer space, putting its own distinctive spin on a management sim classic. It keeps things light with harmonious alien cultures and streamlined doctor levelling, making for a nice and accessible time.
If you enjoy Two Point games, and management simulation titles altogether, you'll no doubt have a lot of fun with Galacticare, but don't expect an experience of the same degree of refinement as some of the other titans in this space.
Galacticare is now my favourite management game ! It's chilled to play yet exciting to explore and discover the new levels and aliens and diseases. Taking your time to even look at the background and you can find things updating. The narratives are excellent, very funny and not too obtrusive. I find myself chuckling while building my hospital.
Galacticare is basically Two Point Hospital but in space.
Having played Two Point Hospital for 150+ hours I knew this game would be for me!
I downloaded it via xbox game pass for pc and had a good time playing through the tutorial and first 2 missions. The game looks bright and engaging, although the constant "phone calls" were a little annoying. If you've played a management sim before you know what to expect, but the space element brought new illnesses to cure which were interesting to watch in the treatment rooms.
After completing mission 2, that's where my issues started. I turned off the PC and went to return a few hours later but was met with nothing but error messages and couldn't launch the game. After uninstalling/reinstalling, I finally could play again the next day. I spent an hour and a half on mission 3. It was pretty slow and I was quite bored waiting for new objectives to spawn for me to complete the story. I never did finish mission 3 because I got a bug where it said I didnt treat all the patients on the oil train, however no one was left in my hospital. After restarting, reading bug reports and trying to fix it. I gave up trying.
I decided to go back and do the mission again but no, error messages mean I once again have to reinstall and I just can't put myself through all that again when I'm not sure if I will encounter another bug.
As a lover of these types of games, I recommend waiting til the bugs are fixed, as a lot of people seem to be having the same issues. It's a total shame.
