EA brought back Ben Haumiller who worked on the original NCAA series for a decade. To help build the game, they hired a team of guys who helped create NCAA Revamped, a modded-out version of NCAA Football 2014 that helped to keep the aging game alive. They worked with 134 teams to get every important facet of college football programs into the new game, including rebuilding every stadium for the new game. And they nailed every single detail.
Anyone saying “mAdDeN ReSkIn” is objectively incorrect. It is not perfect. It is ABSOLUTELY better and different from madden in so many ways that anyone with over a room temperature IQ could clearly distinguish. Running in this game is objectively better, the passing meter is an outstanding edition. Recruiting in dynasty with worth the purchase price alone. Defense still kind of ****, but it’s better than Madden. Road to glory is mid. But it’s WAY better than maddens bull@&!? Superstar mode. The presentation and lighting is so much better than Madden that even comparing the two doesn’t begin to exemplify how much better it is. It’s honestly an 8.3 but I’m giving it a 10 to correct for some of the brain dead takes.
EA put all of its chips into College Football 25, and it truly paid off. People are buying consoles just to play this game. It's a cultural phenomenon and the experience that's provided isn't replicated anywhere else. All the new additions to help make the game stand out including Wear and Tear, Turbo Mode, different coverage shells and added hot routes for pre-play, and basically everything added isn't just a gimmick, it's a substantial change. While some bugs and logic need to be addressed, College Football 25 is undoubtedly the most fun football game to come out in years. Everything College Football is here.
There’s no question College Football 25 is worth buying and a welcome return to the franchise. At times, you’ll find yourself picking apart defenses and scoring wildly entertaining touchdowns. On its worst day, you’ll be stuck in the menu for an hour trying to recruit a quarterback from Riverside, Calif., or studying for an upcoming exam (which is its own puzzle). The game is truly a combination of work hard, play harder — sounds a lot like college.
When I heard EA was bringing college football back, I was fully prepared to play a game of Madden with college uniforms. In all honesty, I would have played it and been mildly satisfied. EA delivered a much deeper experience that easily carves its own identity in every way possible. Once EA learns its way around the restrictions of the NIL situation, the series will go to an even higher level.
College Football 25 will be a must-play for any hardcore college football fans, and the excitement of the new release helps players ignore some of its flaws.
EA Sports College Football 2025 is the return of college football that sports gaming fans have been waiting for. There's enough here to keep the avid and dedicated fans around for a good while, with Dynasty Mode and Road to Glory taking center stage. Control over dynasty players, playing defense, and not fully showing what controls are bring down the experience quite a bit, especially in the beginning hours. EA Sports College Football 25 is not for everyone, but fans will get enough out of it to keep the franchise coming back around each year, hopefully with improvements.
All in all it’s a good game with lots of flaws. Running the ball is much improved and feels fresh and responsive. Passing definitely feels different and balls can be lofted over defenders finally. Pageantry and pre game presentation as well as graphics are very good. Commentary is meh and in game presentation is kinda lackluster. Recruiting is good and can be challenging. That’s all the positives. Outside of recruiting dynasty is barebones and sim logic is pathetic. Road to glory is a complete joke. The game severely lacks customization and depth, a typical ea sports game symptom. It’s a 7 right now since the game feels fresh. But if they don’t improve the game In future releases, it’s gonna be a typical run of the mill sports franchise that tarnishes a once great series
Don't be fooled, just about nothing works in this game. There are so many bugs it makes the game nearly unplayable. And some of their decisions are just mindboggling.
Set a depth chart in Dynasty? No. Doesn't work or save.
Cut players? No. You can encourage "some" players to transfer. I have yet to figure out the rationale behind who can be encouraged.
Anyone incoming is off limits, but a RS sophomore or Junior? No, it's grayed out. But if you don't make it down to the 85 player maximum, the game will cut them for you and you have no control over it.
There patch notes say they fixed issues but they didn't.
Dont worry though, because it will constantly default to the Ultimate Team page to try to get you to spend money.
Just a re-skinned Madden, save your money. All the positive reviews are nostalgia based for the old game, users in denial that EA gimped them again for $80 for the same sh@t in shiny packaging
