The Meta Design community is pioneering technologies to bring people closer together, and our teams share in the responsibility of doing it at a global scale. We are committed to designing and building Facebook apps and technologies -- the Facebook app, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads, and Facebook Reality Labs to serve a diverse global community. Facebook is looking for a Product Design Director with strong design, communication and leadership skills with a penchant for high craft, and is deeply technical with an expertise toward novel systems to control custom hardware. As a Product Design Director in this role, you will lead and manage teams to ensure our products and features are exceptionally well crafted, are easy to use, and leading the way in the future of personal computing. In this role, you'll be a member of the leadership team, working together with your product partners in engineering, UX research, research scientists, content design, art and other disciplines to define the strategy, operations, communications, and technical human-centric KPIs for inputs & outputs, that guide the team to build exceptional products. Candidates will need experience working closely with hardware and industrial design teams as it is necessary to develop well integrated inputs/output solutions for novel computing devices . The role supports two teams: One with design system designers that work on guidelines and components that need to work across many devices, from smartphones, to hardware unlike anything currently in the market. Another team to be managed by this role is mostly composed of highly specialized technical prototypers that focus on human factors and on early-prototype hardware directly establishing a scientific approach to establishing KPIs for human perception, responsiveness, population coverage, accuracy, precision, etc. The teams are distributed across multiple offices working across multiple product lines simultaneously.
