🌈 Why diversity matters? Shouldnt be a question, but in the reality of owning a business it is not always a priority. But making a profit is. And having a top performing team! So I entered the main stage at Nordic Game to explain how a diverse team would serve both profit and performance by showing cases of what we have done and how you actually can change the the situation with small efforts. Thanks to Nordic games and Paula Fenjima Manrique at Nordic Game for making my speech a priority and letting me open up the whole conference 🙏🎊 #diveristy #inclusion #hr #gaming

Product Manager | NUS MBA | Freelance Games Strategist | Launched Canada's newest media streaming platform
Last post about Riot Games I swear... We know 2XKO's winning aspiration, the arena it will play in and the users it wants to target. The final step of our framework is outlining what needs to be in place to execute on product strategy. For simplicity sake, I bucketed it into Hiring, Design, and Publishing and laid out top priorities for each. 📄 Read the FULL report here: https://lnkd.in/gJ7YxA_2 To wrap up - 2XKO is a great case study for gaming PM's given how genuinely new it is for Riot. New genre (fighting), new platform (console), new segments (FGC), and new'ish markets (e.g Dominican Republic, Pakistan). Big thanks again to Maximilian Wischow for sharing his product expertise and introducing the Playing to Win framework to me! 🙏

Ever wondered what it's like inside Riot Games HQ? Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to visit thanks to Amanda Xaypraseuth, and I was amazed by what I experienced. During my tour, I saw really cool areas, like Bilgewater Brew, Noms, PC Bong, and their stunning outdoor quad. But what left the biggest impression on me was the passionate Rioters still on campus past 5 PM. There were Rioters in meeting rooms adventuring through DnD campaigns. There were Rioters in the PC Bong playing Valorant or League of Legends together. There were Rioters in the console room seemingly conducting a fighting game tournament with Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 7. The amount of passion and love that I could feel for their craft in video games was liberating. When I initially thought about transitioning away from my engineering career, I asked for advice from close friends and family. The common sentiment was work is just a means to an end. Work to live, not live to work! While I completely understand and respect that perspective, I thought to myself, "is that how I really want MY career to be?". I want to wake up and feel passionate about the problems I'm solving. So much so that I still think about how I can improve my craft after work. Visiting Riot and getting a chance to observe what I did only reinforced my belief that turning work into play is the best method for me. Have you had a similar experience that reshaped your career perspective? #gamedesign #games #passionforwork

Yaayyy!!! So proud to have taken part in this awesome VALORANT project at NMBRS and collaborating with the amazing team at Massive Assembly It was especially cool and fun experience for me, since I had the opportunity to take on more responsibility and animate almost every 3D shot here!! 😁 Was a challenging process to help bring this cinematic together, but the end result is really satisfying to see 😊 #animation #3danimation #animators #characteranimation
VCT SHANGHAI - Once again we got the chance to help the fantastic team over at Massive Assembly to work on another banger for Riot Games Every time we get the chance to work together we push ourselves to become better and better! Before we touch down in Austin for Afrotech next month, we spoke to Game Designer and Riot Noir member Noor Amin about why it's essential to have Riot Games there, and she also gave us some advice for aspiring designers looking to launch their careers in the field. ➡️ Why is it important that Riot participates in Afrotech? One of Riot Games' core values is putting the player experience first. As Rioters, we are responsible for celebrating players in the games that they love, including players we have not historically served. Engaging with Black professionals at Afrotech can help us bring new ideas into our products and further our mission of more authentically celebrating our global player base. ➡️ How has Riot Noir impacted you during your time at Riot? Riot Noir was the first employee group I joined and continues to be the most important community for me at Riot Games. Between meeting other marginalized folks, sharing experiences at work, and bonding over movie nights, Riot Noir has provided a sense of belonging and support that has been crucial in my journey as a young designer. More than a place of solidarity, Riot Noir has also helped me build meaningful relationships. I was lucky to have met George Oliver, the lead of Noir and my biggest personal inspiration at Riot Games. He has provided advice as a more senior designer and acted as a sounding board when I’ve needed extra support and helped me better advocate for myself. ➡️ Any advice for aspiring game designers? Try out as many different types of design as you can! Larger companies, in particular, hire somewhat specialized game designers. Write lines for a League of Legends champion, prototype an ability set on paper, or even implement enemy behavior in-engine! Small, exploratory projects can lead to a deeper understanding of your strengths and interests, helping you carve out a fulfilling career path in the game industry.

🌟 Transforming Team Dynamics with Self-Selection at Riot Games 🌟 Some years ago, I spearheaded an innovative reorganization for our Skins team at Riot Games, creators of League of Legends. With a talented team of about 65, including 3D artists and technical experts, we were tasked with boosting our creative output. Inspired by "Creating Great Teams: How Self-Selection Lets People Excel," I decided to try self-selection—a first at Riot. In a single, incredible dynamic day, we reshaped a large team into five focused squads, each hand-picking their projects and peers. The skepticism from some leadership team members was palpable; implementing a model that breaks conventional norms was a hard sell. However, through a targeted campaign highlighting the potential benefits, we gained the necessary buy-in. The impact was profound: we doubled our annual production of skins, but more importantly, our team happiness index, engagement, and the quality of work all saw significant increases. This approach not only enhanced our productivity but also enriched our team culture. Shoutout to my team of amazing producers who help me pull it off! This journey has reinforced the incredible potential of Agile and Lean principles in creating a more engaged and productive team. If you’re considering a bold move to empower your team, self-selection might just be the game changer you need. #Leadership #Innovation #Teamwork #Agile #RiotGames #LeagueOfLegends #SelfSelection #LeanMethods
