The Teams (Navy Seals/Special Forces etc) have a saying: "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast"--Author Unkown I'm learning to take more time to think things through better and it's making me stronger and faster at problem solving/coding challenges. I take it to mean that if you do things more thoroughly and methodically (which is usually slower) then you will do them better and faster by default. I wonder how many devs are using deprecated code that is tough to use/remember when they could be using something faster and more light weight while retaining versatility? #1j11h1 #code #webdevelopment

I never expected my career to take off in the way it did! Do you remember the day, the event that jump-started your career? In my early days in the Marine Corps, right after my MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) school in 29 Palms, I was sent to my first duty station to HQMC at the Navy Annex in Arlington, VA. Like many data-comm (IT MOS) Marines, you typically start on the help desk, fixing printers, restarting PCs, pretending not to be shocked that such high-ranking officials could barely use a PC back in those days. One day, while on watch duty, I started tinkering with Python code just for fun. I had tried to learn C by myself, but it was proving very difficult; Python, on the other hand, just seemed to click with me. Little did I know my curiosity would be the jetpack that accelerated my career in tech! A Sergeant Neil Young (Non-Commissioned Officer, Several Levels above my rank then) noticed me typing away and asked what I was working on. I showed him my code, and he was impressed! He introduced me to the Operations lead, who needed another systems administrator to help run our network. I landed a role on that team and further honed my skills; the rest is history! I still had watch duty, but my two days of fixing PCs were over! What is the moral of the story? Remember to underestimate the power of exploring your interests and passions, even if it's just a side hustle. You never know where it might lead you! #careerjourney #python #tech"

According to the US Army there are 7 core functions for effective command and control - C2. Here is number 4 of our series on how these 7 core functions are "baked into" the #SitaWare suite right out of the box - 𝗖𝟮 𝗢𝗻-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲. With C2-On-the-Move the power of the many users of SitaWare shows through, because many nations have already begun the transition to mobile/disbursed Command Post operations. SitaWare's unique ‘Organization Cluster’ capability allows for the duplication of CP servers across formations, allowing one CP to take over the role of another seamlessly as needed. Find out more about why our SitaWare suite of battlefield management software is used by over 50 nations globally. https://lnkd.in/gEqSx3Dh #commandandcontrol #c4isr #battlefield #militarystrategy
