Are you interested in the optimization of fiber composite applications? 📆 Come and visit the #W8SVR booth G65 in Hall 5 at #JEC World in Paris from March 5 - 7, 2024 to find out more about a special lightweight construction project and the technology used! 🚛 Together with industrial partners, scientists at the #FraunhoferIMWS have been working on #LargeLoadCarriers since 2022 in the #LightLog project, funded by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz (Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action). These are ideal for setting up and operating efficient transport systems, as they offer plenty of storage space with a low dead weight and high load capacity. Together with our partners TWIN-TEC Packaging GmbH, Infinex Group and W8SVR GmbH we are investigating further optimization potential through the use of fiber composite construction methods. #leightweightconstruction #fibercomposites

I create, design and offer products and programs that help develop and use visual and emotional intelligence to promote wellbeing, human rights and peace.
When a project of multiple years closes with a symposium, there is so much to harvest. Stakeholders have learned so much, interesting data has emerged and most likely, an important key message has been identified and is worth sharing with a larger audience. Drive 0 EU H2020 chose to partner with me in making their key message clear and available to others through a visual summary that I recently visualized for them. #circulareconomy #sustainabledevelopment #finalresults #visualempathy #visualstorytelling #visualcommunication #praatplaat #thevisualmediator
📣 Announcing the Drive 0 #FinalResults As the project ended in December 2023, we are proud to share with you some of the final results of our 51-month circular journey ♻️ Today you are invited to read the impressive report summarising important discussions that took place throughout our Final Symposium ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eRSSCZzi Find all Drive 0 reports ➡️ https://lnkd.in/erJCx8Py Graphics by 👁🗨 Mireille van Bremen StepUP project #PLURALProject INFINITE project BuildUPspeed Giga Regio Factory CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency EU_BUILD UP

I'm pleased to join the VECTOR North America #SDV Symposium in #Michigan (technically Livonia) to give a keynote presentation on the industry's progress towards building, supporting and commercializing SDVs - as well as some practical observations for how to address common problems. I like to frame these in the style of Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, a model many of us picked up in our high school/college years in Psychology 101. The idea is that before you can achieve self-actualization - the top tier that allows people to be creative and maximize intellectual potential - more basic needs like food, safety, and belonging must be achieved first. In the context of automotive, before you can truly take advantage of what SDVs have to offer ("self-actualization"), there are a ton of other competencies that must be mastered first. Rushing to the top of the pyramid while ignoring the foundation is a recipe for disaster, and one we're seeing repeated amongst many volume automakers. Let's chat on September 18th - see you there, along with Florian Sommer, Sivapalan (Balan) Balanayagam, Brian Carlson, Stefano Marzani, Brandy Goolsby, MBA, MS and many others: https://lnkd.in/gG_AUD5k SBD Automotive VECTOR Informatik NXP Semiconductors Amazon Web Services (AWS) Stellantis

This paper investigates practical utilization of multiple distributed #reconfigurable #intelligent #surfaces (#RISs), which are able to #conduct #group-#specific #operations, for #multi-#group #multicasting systems. To tackle the #inter-#group interference issue in the #multi-#group #multicasting systems, the #block #diagonalization (#BD)-based beamforming is considered first. Without any inter-group interference after the BD operation, the multiple distributed RISs are operated to maximize the minimum rate for each group. Since the computational complexity of the #BD-#based beamforming can be too high, a #multicasting #tailored #zero-#forcing (#MTZF) beamforming technique is proposed to efficiently suppress the inter-group interference, and the novel design for the multiple RISs that make up for the inevitable #loss #of #MTZF beamforming is also described.----Hyeongtaek Lee, Seungsik Moon, Youngjoo Lee, @Jaeky Oh, Jaehoon Chung, Junil Choi More details can be found at this link: https://lnkd.in/gTxPAzDw

How can smart sensing technology be (re)designed to contribute to perceived safety in public spaces? Introducing: ‘BL0.0M’. A redesign of the standard bullet and dome cameras in use today. Congratulations are in order: this week our research student Seb H. graduated with his thesis ‘Enhancing Perceived Safety: A Transformation of the Visual Impact and Design Aesthetics of Camera Sensors in the Public Space’. As part of his project, he developed BL0.0M. A design for cameras that not only contributes to people’s physical safety, but also their feeling of safety. A selection of BL0.0Ms design highlights: Organic Design In contrast to the rigidity of previous camera sensors, BL0.0M uses organic, flowing forms in its design, blending in with the nature in its vicinity. Part of the environment Upon activation of the camera sensor, BL0.0M opens like a flower and communicates its functionality to passersby. When inactive, the petals physically close over the camera. Petal and Camera modularity BL0.0Ms petal modules can easily be swapped out for a different design and its modularity extends to its camera sensor module, accommodating both bullet- and dome camera models. Curious about Seb's design process? Take a look at the video below https://lnkd.in/eAPFnNyb or read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eyzKUUU7 – #bulletcamera #perceivedsafety #publicspace #productdesign #smartcities #smartsensors #technologynews #industrialdesign With Thijs Turel, Anouk Wieleman, Sam Smits / Student TUDELFT, AMS Institute, Gemeente Amsterdam, Innovatie, TU Delft | Industrial Design Engineering, TU Delft | AI.
