Though the podium was only provided through the actions of a certain someone... It's super surprising that the Spaniard still does not have a home for 2025. If Antonelli doesn't get approved for Formula 1, Mercedes really needs to bring on Sainz for a year. Not sure why Sainz is so adamant finding a team that will sign him for 2+ years. He's so competitive right now, he shouldn't be complacent in choosing a team like Williams, Sauber, or Alpine. Blows my mind he turned them down. Hopefully Toto gives him one more chance, he needs to be in a competitive team for next year. He's too good right now not to be!
Per citare Alonso, meno parole e piรน lavoro. Meno foto, video, reels e piรน lavoro, in silenzio. Sta diventando unโagenzia marketing piรน che IL team di F1. Da quando ci va bene P3 e P11 ? Mentalitร mediocre.

Sir Lewis Hamilton seemingly went through the entire spectrum of emotions during this weekend's Formula 1#HungarianGP. He surprised everyone (including himself, maybe?) by snatching pole in spectacular fashion on Saturday, beating Max Verstappen by a mere 0.003 seconds. It clearly meant a lot to him, and we saw an excitement we hadn't seen in a very long time.
https://lnkd.in/eX5t2Eq5
Then came Sunday.
We all had our hopes up for another epic Hamilton v Verstappen battle, but it wasn't to be. Verstappen took P1 by turn 1, and rode off into the sunset. Clearly there will be no stopping Max any time soon, it's his world and we're just living in it. Barring mechanical failures or spectacular crashes, I wouldn't be surprised if Max ended up winning every single race for the rest of the season.
Sir Lewis and George Russell impressively managed to take P4 and P6 for Mercedes. For Russell, who started P18, this probably felt like a win. For Hamilton though, it must have felt like a loss after the excitement and anticipation brought about on Saturday. This made me think of the neuroscience of losing versus winning.
Our motivation is heavily impacted by our expectations. If our expectations are met, we get a very small, short-lived dopamine boost. It won't sustain or motivate us for a very long time. However, if we lose while expecting to win our expectations are not met, and a whole interesting cascade of motivational processes happens in our brains.
If we are scared of losing again, we will show avoidance motivation. This type of motivation creates anxiety because we're scared it will happen again, which then impairs performance. People motivated by avoidance are more likely to choke under pressure. People with the right mindset, however, will show approach motivation. This basically means facing the failure head on, figuring out what we can learn from it, and (most importantly) setting clear, aspirational yet achievable goals that will help us get back to winning.
When we get closer to our goals, both motivation and performance surge (as do our dopamine levels). This goes on until we get to that ultimate win, we have a big dopamine boost followed by smaller ones, and the whole process repeats itself when we lose again.
Elite performers (like F1 drivers) generally show approach motivation, which makes them so good at what they do. Sir Lewis is a prime example. He suffered the ultimate loss during the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (even more so because he lost through no fault of his own). He's been fighting his way back for the past 1.5 years, showing relentless approach motivation and determination in chasing that next win.
It may be a while before we see him back at the top step of the podium. However, I sincerely hope he signs on for (at least) another season, because I would love to watch another season of Hamilton and Verstappen, two titans of the sport, battling each other wheel to wheel.

BWT GroupAlpine F1 Team heads to Imola for Round 7 of the 2024 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, the F1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Good luck to Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, fingers crossed for more points.
The first point of the season in Miami shows that we are making progress after a very difficult start to our campaign. In the last two races we have demonstrated a slight rise in competitiveness and ability to race in more encouraging positions on track. Even if part of that is due to some track specifics, we have been able to unlock some performance courtesy of our upgrades. We will not be bringing any significant ones over the next few races, but we keep pushing hard at the factories to improve the car and extract more performance.
This weekend is our first European race of the season and a return to a conventional track. Imola is synonymous with Formula 1, itโs really a legendary circuit. Itโs very fast, tight, challenging and itโs great to still race at these iconic tracks. Itโs back to a normal race weekend without a Sprint, so we will aim to have a constructive Friday and set ourselves up well for the remainder of the weekend when it counts. Other than Canada, this is the beginning of an intense period on the calendar racing through Europe right until the summer break. Itโs important that the team remains focused and keeps pushing at the factories in order to bring more performance to the car, which is our natural aim.

Today, it is with great enthusiasm that we celebrate the extraordinary victory of ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ผ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ ๐ฆ๐ฟ. at the ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ฟ, marking his fourth triumph in the legendary rally competition. At ๐ฒ๐ญ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐น๐ฑ, Carlos has shown that age is just a number, and passion and determination can overcome any obstacle.
Carlos Sainz Sr., also known as "๐๐ก ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ค๐ง", has always embodied the warrior spirit in the world of rally. With a career rich in successes and challenges, Sainz tackled the Dakar with the same ๐ด๐ฟ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป that distinguished him in decades past.
This victory represents a ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ for the Spanish driver. After a long career, Sainz faced inevitable ups and downs, but his determination remained unwavering. The Dakar is one of the ๐บ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ in the world, and every victory is the result of commitment, talent, and a significant dose of courage. Sainz's victory is also a powerful message for those who might feel discouraged in pursuing their goals. ๐ผ๐๐ ๐จ๐๐ค๐ช๐ก๐ ๐ฃ๐๐ซ๐๐ง ๐๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐ค๐๐จ๐ฉ๐๐๐ก๐ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐ฅ๐ช๐ง๐จ๐ช๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ค๐ฃ๐'๐จ ๐ฅ๐๐จ๐จ๐๐ค๐ฃ, and Carlos Sainz Sr. is a living testament to this principle.

I know us Formula 1 fans are all up in our feelings after Sunday's #AustrianGP, but can we please keep a cool head and stop it with the sensationalizing and (mainly online) hating on Max/Lando (depending on your affiliation) already?
The first fifty laps of the race at the Red Bull Ring were kind of a snooze fest, but boy did the last twenty laps deliver. Max and Lando gave us fire! I don't necessarily like drivers taking each other out (anyone else reminded of Austria 2016 when Rosberg and Hamilton collided in the exact same spot, allowing Max to sneak in for a podium like George Russell did this time?), but this kind of action bodes well for the rest of the season.
We asked for close racing, we got close racing!
So let's all chill out and not immediately start accusing Max of 'going back to his old ways' and Lando of 'being arrogant ever since he won in Miami' (not my words, all courtesy of the lovely F1 'fans' on social media a.k.a. the internet's toilet).
Lando is currently 81 points behind Max in the Driver Standings. This means we could have an actual battle for the championship on our hands. It will require both drivers, as well as their teams, to bring their absolute A-game every single week.
To continue delivering peak performance, Max and Lando will have to
๐ก be smart about managing risk and reward to decide when and how to attack
๐ก regulate their emotions, and not let the heat of the battle knock them off balance
๐ก maintain an internal locus of control, to help them focus on controlling the controllables and not worry about anything else
Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology and McLaren Racing will have to
๐ก create/maintain a safe space for people to fail, because that will make them less likely to
๐ก be transparent in communication, and crystal clear about roles and responsibilities, while refraining from micromanaging, to stimulate ownership
๐ก learn from mistakes and celebrate success to keep the dopamine flowing
We're talking about ultimate high performers on ultimate high performing teams so I'm sure this is all second nature to them. But we have to keep in mind: it's very easy to regulate your emotions and maintain a safe space when you're winning. When the pressure is on is when these things are both most important ๐๐ฃ๐ most difficult.
We're only a few races into this battle so it remains to be seen how intense the fight will be. But I was yelling at my TV again on Sunday, something I haven't done since Abu Dhabi 2021.
I'm ready for the action at one of my favorite circuits on the calendar.
Bring on Silverstone!
