Yesterday the Qualifying session for Italian Grand Prix saw Carlos Sainz from Ferarri taking the pole position with of course the fastest time. Fastest time for a lap in qualy or fastest time until finish represent the ultimate outcome in F1 that everyone is chaising, trying to find the best set-up, optimizing and improve the car in order to achieve it. What can be seen from the data is the “best time” or perfect time for a lap at Monza is a lap done in straight lines by a Ferrari, Mercedes under braking and Red Bull in the chicanes. Of course such a car does not exist, at least for the moment, but worth to know the real potential compare with it and try to improve having a base of comparison. It is the same with process improvement, can you have a process containing just value added activities with no wastes? At least is not seen until now. But just imagining this and compare the actual situation with the “perfection” helps in identifying improvement potential and try to reduce the gap. Lewis Hamilton could make a shock move to Ferrari for the 2025 season, BBC Sport understands. Several sources say claims of links between the seven-time champion and Ferrari should be taken seriously, but a deal is not yet confirmed. Ferrari want Hamilton to join Charles Leclerc for the 2025 season. The 39-year-old signed a new two-year deal with Mercedes for 2024 and 2025 last summer but it seems he can leave after one season, should he choose. #formula1 #mercedesf1 #ferrari

Seb done his time therefore I would go for Antonelli all the way. Aiden Irving: As much as I would love to see Carlos or Seb in the seat, Toto won’t want to miss out on the “next Verstappen” like he did last time... I would sign Antonelli and write off 2025 as a non-competitive year, let Antonelli get comfortable in F1 and then look to compete for the championship when the 2026 engine regulations come in. He placed 6 for Aston Martin at Suzuka 6 April. Kimi will hone his skill in a Mercedes powered Williams and Sainz will help building Aston Martin. Vettel, while an excellent choice, will be heading in a different direction. “It was quite close at the end. I think overall this track is very sensitive with the tyres, with the tarmac being really aggressive, and when you really want to go to the limit it doesn’t always work out.” - Max Verstappen pole sitter for Suzuka F1 Grand Prix. What he means? Usually a circuit lap is divided into 3 sectors. And normally you would think that trying to go the fastest into each will reflect in the total duration of the lap. What Verstappen is saying that due to the abrasive nature of the tarmac, driving on the limit will not mean fastest, but it was more important to keep the tyres into the right window.
