I decided slow things down a bit both in approach and subject matter. Playing with a lot of hatching and how the absence of the hatching can create volume in the negative space. Some Wolf Love characters, but with realistic proportions. Some do not know it, and I have never said it literally, but the proportions that I use for the Wolf Love characters are a bit "caricatured", that is to say, some shapes of the bodies, and sizes in relation to the head, are altered and not realistic. I only usually use more "realistic" proportions in drawings that correspond to original stories I own (secret) and since I've made many drawings of them lately, it already seems strange to me to see the Wolf Love characters, with such cartoonish proportions, so I wanted to see what some with realistic proportions look like. SOME DATA: - For adult human beings, I usually use between 6 to 9 heads, depending on the gender and complexion of the character. - For furry beings (anthro animals) with a head similar to a human (ovoid) I usually use 6 to 9 heads, 10 maximum, depending on the type of animal, sex and complexion of the character. - For furry beings (anthro animals) with a head with an elongated snout, such as canines, equines, or even some reptiles, I usually use 7 to 10 heads, this to simulate a head according to the body, since the snouts could simulate heads too big otherwise. Good morning everyone! Thinking about Dietrich Bonhoeffer this morning. My friends and I have spent a good many discussions about the rise (and hopefully fall) of Trumpism in America. It is a complex psychological affliction incorporating cultism, anger, social minimization, victimhood, and gullibility. But as I read a recent article in the Daily KOS about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the most salient contributor appears to be stupidity. Bonhoeffer was a vocal dissident against Hitler’s regime in the 1930’s and was eventually put to death for his views. But here’s a quoted passage of Bonhoeffer from that article that really struck home about our current American political issues. “Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed — in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical — and when facts are irrefutable they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self-satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack.” 1930-1940’s in Nazi Germany; 2016-present in America.
