Helping female leaders in professional services find fulfilment and happiness at work | Author The Career Confidence Toolkit | Career and Executive Coach | Podcast Host | "Infectiously driven and straightforward"
When was the last time you took the time to celebrate? I don't mean the end of the project team meal or the lessons learned debrief. I mean really celebrate who you are and who you have become. You are not the person you were 5 years ago, 12 months ago or even 6 weeks ago. You will have learned new skills, developed new perspectives and gained either wider or deeper experience. Rather than rush on to the next thing, busy, busy, busy, take some time to reflect not just on what you have done but who you have become as a result. Doing this allows us to gather evidence of what we are capable of and this evidence provides fuel to the fire of your confidence. I am celebrating three decisions that I have made in the last week about where I choose to direct my time, energy and attention. Why do good things always seem to come in threes? A few years ago, I would have encountered the same situations and reacted very differently. I would have felt it was my responsibility to 'fix' things. I would have thrown myself into the task, even if I didn't necessarily have the time and it wasn't what was best for me. Today, I can appreciate that's not my job. I'm not the same person I was and neither are you! Take some time to appreciate what you have learned and how you have grown.

Happy PRIDE Month! My friend and colleague, James C. Neilson, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, ➕ Gallup Strengths Coach could not have said it any better. “Pride, thankfulness, and appreciation of allies are integral elements in fostering strong, supportive communities.💥Pride in one's identity and achievements can be a powerful source of motivation and self-respect. When individuals feel proud of who they are and what they have overcome, they inspire others to embrace their own journeys with confidence.💥Equally important is the sense of thankfulness for the support received along the way. Expressing gratitude not only acknowledges the efforts of others but also strengthens bonds and promotes a culture of mutual respect.💥Appreciation of allies, whether they are friends, family, or colleagues, is crucial. Allies play a pivotal role in advocating for and uplifting marginalized voices, creating inclusive environments where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.💥By recognizing and valuing the contributions of our allies, we build a foundation of solidarity and collective empowerment that benefits all.” Thank you James for this wonderful post! I truly appreciate you and all you do for others.

Day 4 – International Week of Happiness at Work 🎉 Embracing the Power of Celebration! 🎉 In my penultimate instalment of these posts, let’s discuss the positive affects of celebrating wins, whether they are big or small, personal or professional 🏆 As I’ve said previously, life can be turbulent, and often it’s difficult not to focus on the challenges or setbacks. However, once you realise that celebrating victories, no matter how minor they seem to you, can give us a boost of happiness and positivity 😁 When you celebrate a victory, you’re acknowledging hard work and achievements, which can help to boost self-esteem and confidence. It can remind you of your progress, which can motivate you to move forward. It can strengthen relationships, particularly in a project team when you uplift each other. It also offers a well-deserved break from hard work, giving yourself time to recharge 🔋 Let’s start to really celebrate the wins, both big and small. In project teams, streams or even across the group. Spread positivity, share your wins, and help to further secure happiness at work ✨ #InternationalWeekofHappinessatWork #IWOHAW #CelebratePositivity

In our Life Journey, we all crave acknowledgment and motivation from those around us. It's natural to want to be cheered on, supported, and valued by others. But sometimes, we forget to give back these same feelings to those who matter to us. Imagine a world where everyone took the time to appreciate and uplift one another. It would be a place filled with positivity—a place where individuals feel valued, confident, and empowered to pursue their dreams. Being a cheerleader in someone's life involves more than just offering compliments or words of encouragement. It's about actively listening, providing constructive feedback, and celebrating their achievements, no matter how big or small. It's about recognizing their efforts, strengths, and unique qualities that make them who they are. Let's join hands to build a better world where everyone feels appreciated.

The right words make all the difference | Author of “Leaders Light the Path” | Podcast “Irresistible Communication”
It’s a family tradition for us to say thanks to our children at the end of each school year, not for the marks they brought home but for the effort they put in … … most importantly for embracing the opportunity to learn and have fun with it. I think that’s a good habit in business, too, especially for ambitious teams. When we’re constantly busy cracking the next challenge, it can be hard to hit pause for a moment and celebrate how far we’ve already come. It’s easy to take the effort for granted. But taking a moment once in a while to appreciate the effort and say thanks to the team should be just as easy. What traditions do you have to celebrate efforts? In your family or in business? __ I help people find the right words. If you’re looking for words

Celebrating Father’s Day reminds us of the joy and pride we feel when our roles are recognized and appreciated. This sense of fulfillment should extend to our professional lives as well. It’s essential to stay committed to our responsibilities without always seeking personal achievements. True success isn't just about individual accomplishments; it’s about contributing to the collective victory of our team. When our team succeeds, we succeed – this shared triumph is a more meaningful and enriching form of success. By focusing on the success of our team, we foster a more collaborative and supportive work environment. This collective effort not only leads to greater achievements but also builds stronger, more resilient teams. Ultimately, our individual success is intertwined with the success of those around us, making every victory a shared celebration.

Pause for a moment and reflect on the past 24 hours. How often did you take a moment to celebrate - big or small victories? From managing a challenging task at work, to simply giving yourself credit for handling a difficult situation, every achievement deserves recognition. Celebrating isn't always about grand gestures; it's about acknowledging your daily accomplishments and embracing the positive energy it brings. Remember, by celebrating daily, we fuel our motivation and create a positive loop for continued growth. So, what did you celebrate today?
