Having trouble naming something? Ask QA for ideas. Video game QA professionals are some of the most creative people you will ever meet. Every one of them is filled with all sorts of ideas. When you are having trouble naming something or can't come up with a new whatever for whatever or can't figure out how to improve something, ask QA. You ask 3 QA folks for a new anything and you'll probably get at least 6 useable ideas. Even though QA might not have been included in the story/world building process, they will come up with ideas that will fit within the scope of your world design. Additionally, QA loves it when they can point to something in a game they have worked on and say that they contributed that to the game.

Have you ever wondered what it is like to manage a project? Wonder no more: the "Kanban board game" got you covered with a simplified, playful answer. A neat web-based game that challenges you to plan the workload for the team and get as much increment as possible. I got almost 50k, that's not even in the top 50 but maybe not too bad 😁 Pro-tip for like-minded producers: it allows you to assign any task to any specialist. I figured this out by getting a pop-up "Testing is now locked, and only testers can perform it!" and I was like, "OH, so someone else could do the testing?!" Professional deformation 😅 Try it out at https://lnkd.in/dF6CJQyb and let me know if you score some crazy number!

Well, someone can ask “Why? It’s just a bunch of theory?”. Besides the main benefits of standardizing terms in our testing industry and the basic theory that every Test Engineer/QA should know, my point is simple, let me clarify: for example, you have your favorite game: let it be The Witcher. You are the real fan, so are you going just through the main storyline? Nah! You definitely will take any side quest, explore every corner, every beast in this game world. So the same point goes for me in our amazing industry! Be a fan of what you do! :)

Are you a tester who's feeling lost with state transition diagrams? Let me break it down for you. You know when you're playing a video game and you move from one level to another? That's a state transition. You're moving from one state (level 1) to another state (level 2). Now, if you were tasked with testing that game, wouldn't it be helpful to understand all possible states of the game? That's what state transition diagrams do. They map out all possible states and how the system can transition from one state to another. By understanding state transition diagrams, you'll be able to identify potential bugs and ensure the game (or system) works seamlessly. So next time you're playing a game, pay attention to how levels transition. It could be the key to your testing success. #StateTransitionDiagrams #Systems #Modeling #SoftwareDesign #ProcessMapping #Visualization #FlowchartsInTesting #TestingVisualization #ProcessMapping #TestingEfficiency #FlowchartBenefits #TestCoverageMapping #VisualTesting #FlowchartTools #TestingProcesses #TestDesign #ErrorIdentification #TestingWorkflow #FlowchartQA #TestingMethodology #VisualTestCases #FlowchartAnalysis #TestingEfficiency #BugDetection #TestingVisualAid #QualityAssurance #SoftwareTestingInsights

On the importance of testing… So I wanted to buy tickets to the spin-off of one of my favorite movies - Mad Max. The result of that attempt you can see in my video. First I couldn't enter my email, and then I couldn't pay with my preferred payment option. Sigh… Guys, remember - it’s your responsibility to test your code. You DO have time to write tests. Poor QAs have a lot of work on their hands and it’s up to you to do unit, UI, and integration tests in your code. P.S. Major Cineplex Group you might want to look into this 😉 #testing #mobile #qa #bugs

Sometimes squashing bugs can be a scale problem, Sakurai's video on this illustrates this really well, but still, putting in the best effort you can is important so that you have a pleasant user experience in your end product. https://lnkd.in/g_ZvNpPg

In #videogame testing, Functional Quality Assurance (FQA) and Localization Quality Assurance (LQA) are usually considered separate services. While they are distinct, separating the two may be disadvantageous for publishers and developers. Hear what Lionbridge Games’ testing experts had to say about the importance of centralizing the testing process.
