It's another PixelAnt Games lecture as part of the Programming and Technology track at this year's Digital Dragons. 💚🔥 Radosław Paszkowski will start by asking why Vertex shaders don't give us enough freedom and don't keep up with modern times. What is the next step? According to Radek, the answer is simple - Mesh Shaders! During his talk, he will explore how they can speed up rendering, what meshlets are, and what else they can be used for. Come and see the tech of the near future! 🚀✨

I'm really excited that _Designing Historical Games for Class_ (Routledge, hoping 2026) gets me finally around to applying the Historical Problem Space framework to board games. This chapter, for example, discusses how hps is modeled in boardgame mechanics. So it'll be a resource for ed. designers and students but also something Historical Game Studies folk who want tools for analyzing board games can use. Now if only I could draft and write faster!!!!! 2026 is coming though!

I’m thrilled to share that our game, Ninjario 🥷, has received an honourable mention in the React Jam, the online game jam where developers worldwide use their React skills to create games. This game was done by me and Suraj Wijewickrama in only five days of research and development. 💪 You can check out Ninjario and the other React Jam games on the official website link mentioned below. We hope you enjoy playing our game as much as we enjoyed making it! #reactjam #react #reactthreefiber #threejs #gamedevelopment

Are you interested in how Rust can be used in game development? You can now watch the lecture by our software engineer Mateusz Resterny from the last Game Industry Conference.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐂++ 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐭 The talk by Mateusz Resterny from PixelAnt Games. Experimental take on game development assessed through a physics engine prototype. Breaking free from low-level C++ in search of a cleaner, more human-friendly implementation. Exploration of how Rust defining features – the borrow checker, algebraic type system, traits, and iterators – can be used to build a real-time simulation. The functional style programming is put through its paces against an equivalent, more traditional implementation, both in terms of development effort and runtime performance. https://lnkd.in/dEnnBgje #gamedev #indiedev
