It may seem that working as a co-developer means having a marginal impact on a project. Nothing could be further from the truth; our Game Designer - Denis Landik, is one of the few people who pitched Stampede back in 2020. 💡 He also provided specs for AI behavior, game mode rules, power-ups, obstacles, and various level design tools. Later, he led a team of level designers and designed and produced multiple tracks and arenas for the game. He also contributed to the kart handling model, camera behavior, FTUE, various features, and improvements to the game’s replay value in future updates. That sounds like quite an impact on the project. 🏎🛠️👏 As usual, we also contribute to programming tasks, in this case working mainly on optimising the game for mobile devices.

You can still apply for the Season 4! We're finalizing the program for Season 4 - see the draft - it includes pre-recorded workshops on art direction, production, and complexity estimation, so you can set up the production of your game accordingly. Live sessions provide feedback for your art, code, and game design or on-demand sessions around something new, like using AI in production. On the screenshot you see how it look in practice - a booking system, a pre-recorded workshop that is relevant for this 2D art review session, references from previous season so you know if you're up to speed. And we're so proud to have Danyil Vorobiov as a mentor. He participated in Season 3 as a student and now has a very hand-on experience to share. The video pitch of his game is in the comments. For Season 4 we're looking for more artists to match all the programmers and game designers that we've admitted already. Welcome to apply! In Gamedev Camp, you’d be working on your game in teams for 3 months part-time in the evenings (online and global, code, art, and game design review sessions are usually at 18:00 GMT+2). Then there’s a demo day to present your work to a bigger audience and another month to ship your game to Itch.io, where it would be open to public voting. We’ll letsplay all games live on YouTube to attract more people to play your games and cast their votes. After presenting your game demos on Itch and through a public letsplay, Gamedev Camp supports teams in addressing crucial questions: Who needs your game, and how can you fund it? We invite investors and publishers to our demo days and form partnerships with media and platforms to supply them with the best games from the Camp.

The three C’s of the game development process are: Code: This represents the technical aspect of game development. It involves writing the underlying software that brings the game to life. From game mechanics to physics simulations, coding is the backbone of any game. Creativity: At the heart of game development lies creativity. Game designers, artists, and writers collaborate to create captivating worlds, characters, and narratives. This creative process shapes the player experience and sets a game apart. Completion: The final “C” signifies completing the game development cycle. It encompasses testing, polishing, bug fixing, and ensuring the game is ready for release. Completion involves refining gameplay, optimizing performance, and ensuring everything works seamlessly34. Remember, these three C’s harmoniously combine to transform ideas into interactive gaming experiences! 🎮🚀🌟

I see a lot of game developers but not game designers. Why? First, let's make a clear cut to what game design is and what game development is: Game Design involves conceptualizing the game world, its narrative, characters, and the rules that govern it. It’s akin to writing a script for a play, where the designer decides the story, who the characters are, and how they interact with each other and the game world. Game designers are focused on the creative vision and storytelling aspect, crafting an engaging and immersive experience for the player. On the other hand, Game Development is more technical. It involves bringing the game designer’s vision to life through programming, software engineering, and the application of technology. This includes coding the game's mechanics, such as how characters move and interact, how levels are structured, and how the game responds to player actions. Game developers work on the nuts and bolts that make the game playable. In essence, game design is about creating the “what” of the game, while game development is about making the “how.”

Are there any limitations or constraints when using game builders without coding, compared to traditional game development? 🤔 Let's break it down: While game builders offer an enticing promise of creating games without coding knowledge, they do come with limitations. These platforms often provide pre-built templates and tools, limiting customization and creative freedom. In contrast, traditional game development allows for intricate coding, resulting in more complex and tailored games. However, if you're looking to dive into game creation without the steep learning curve of coding, game builders are a fantastic starting point. They streamline the process, allowing quick prototyping and experimentation. But remember, every tool has its trade-offs. If you're aiming for groundbreaking innovation or highly specialized features, traditional development might be the way to go. Ready to bring your game ideas to life? Mention all people, who thinks game development is far easy then other IT fields. I hope this message finds you well! I couldn't help but chuckle when I overheard someone mention how game development seems like a walk in the park. As fellow developers, we know better, right? Game development is like juggling chainsaws – it looks cool, but one wrong move, and things can get messy. It's a unique blend of creativity, logic, and sheer determination. From debugging bizarre glitches to optimizing performance, there's never a dull moment. Sure, outsiders might see the final polished product and think it magically appeared, but we both know the blood, sweat, and late-night debugging sessions that went into it. It's an intricate dance between artistry and technology, where every line of code counts and every pixel matters. So, the next time someone underestimates the complexity of our craft, just smile and remember the countless hours spent perfecting that one tricky algorithm or the frustration of fixing a bug that only occurs when the moon is in the third quarter. Game development isn't easy – it's an art form that demands our dedication, skill, and a touch of madness. Let's keep rocking those keyboards and proving that creating captivating digital worlds is no cakewalk!
