Planned Maintenance Where routine maintenance may happen on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, planned maintenance may be scheduled once per year or as needed. This is because planned maintenance is more time-consuming, expensive, and thorough—often requiring the services of a specialist. In the context of maintaining an air-conditioning unit, routine maintenance is taking out and washing the filters once per month, while planned maintenance is hiring an HVAC professional to check refrigerant levels, possible leaks, and measure airflow through the evaporator coil.

Establish an effective digital confined space monitoring program, with this approach: 👉 Assessment: Begin by identifying all confined spaces within the facility and assessing the potential hazards associated with each. This assessment is the foundation for designing an appropriate monitoring strategy. 👉 Technology Selection: Choose digital monitoring equipment that meets the specific needs of each confined space. Consider factors like the types of hazards present, the environment, and any regulatory requirements. 👉 Installation and Calibration: Proper installation and calibration of monitoring equipment are critical for accurate results. Ensure that equipment is set up correctly and regularly calibrated to maintain accuracy. 👉 Training: Train personnel on the use of monitoring equipment, emergency procedures, and how to interpret alerts. Workers should be well-prepared to respond to changing conditions in confined spaces. 👉 Documentation: Maintain thorough records of monitoring data, calibration, and any incidents or near-misses. Documentation is crucial for compliance, incident investigations, and continuous improvement. 👉 Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update your confined space monitoring program. Incorporate lessons learned from incidents and near-misses to enhance safety measures. Need help? We're the experts. infosignal.ca
