Hilary Cass, your obsession with trans peoples relationships and sex lives is disturbing. None of us are interested in your opinion of our relationships and sex lives. Can we all please just stop now pretending that Cass has any validity or deserves any professional respect or that the Cass report is anything but a thinly veiled justification to attack trans people. No more vacillating, no more "there is some useful recommendations buried in the Cass report". Call her out. Medical professionals call her out. Medical bodies call her out. Hilary Cass is nothing but a transphobic bully and has no role in trans health care. These arguments are never just about transgender people, they're about assertions of worldviews that work against collective liberation and soul growth. The first time I came out as trans at work it was positively nerve wracking because I had only ever heard of one other transgender professional in my life. If we want social factors to be less divisive, we shouldn't try to disappear them, we should unpolarize them by acknowledging that life is full of diversity of all kinds, learning what it takes to support that reality and letting people attend to their own lives with reduced stigma and access to what they need. Cass' perspective is one that concerns me about developing (and under developed but broadly asserted) perspectives on #thriving especially when it comes to young people. Yes, gainful employment is certainly valuable but only in the broader context of one's life. There are absolutely trans folks whose transition goals are to blend - there's no need for you to know they're trans and they might not even think of themselves as trans first rather than as a man or a woman like many other people. The idea, though, that social blending is the gold standard or a goal is automatically transphobic; it leaves no space for trans people to exist as legitimate in their own right, even though trans people have existed in societies across millenia. Thriving is first and foremost about mental and physical health. Thriving has to start from this place before moving to higher order goals, but must also include being in integrity with yourself, having self-love, being connected and feeling a sense of belonging in the world. Employment means nothing to thriving if it's contingent upon you forgetting yourself and misaligned with your values. This is both dangerous to human development (which is life long) and spiritually harmful. #authentity #humandevelopment #diversity #mentalhealth

🤦🏾♀️ Satisfaction: fulfillment of one’s wishes, desires, or needs. Needs: a necessity Needs > Wants Employment: having or giving paid work Work: something a person has to do for themselves or others. Conclusion: Some “work” needs to be done in society for every individual to have their needs met that isn’t based on fleeting desires. Sometimes, I wonder if these “professionals” even earned their degrees and alcolades; wisdom is rare. Writing crude fictions like the Cass report is harmful to a society who needs transparency and integrity.

Not sure that "Americans once OVERWHELMINGLY supported our rights, but... The fact that #government #officials, who should ideally support the #equality and protection of all citizens, are major contributors to this shift is both sad and disgusting. The targeting of the #transgender community, especially #TransYouth, is a clear indicator of a #society moving in the wrong direction. The decline in support for LGBTQ+ rights, including #MarriageEquality, is equally disturbing. There is a growing divide in this country, where instead of progressing, we are now living in a nation of #fear and #intolerance. The correlation between the introduction of anti-trans #legislation and a rise in public support for these #policies is hard to swallow. It's a disturbing reminder of the power of #political rhetoric and legislative action in shaping public opinion. When elected officials propagate anti-trans agendas, it legitimizes #prejudice and encourages those who seek to #marginalize our community. The fact that these attitudes have intensified since 2021, simultaneously with the surge in anti-trans legislation, is no coincidence. It's a calculated move by politicians to create divisions and encourage discrimination and #hatred. As a trans man and #advocate for our community, it's heartbreaking to see the decline in #empathy and understanding that once seemed to be moving in the right direction...even if it was moving slowly. Andrew R. Flores' analysis points out the emergence of "two Americas" for LGBTQ+ people, particularly trans people. This geographical divide worsens existing inequalities and poses a significant risk to our well-being and #safety in less supportive states...and let's be clear, there are many. The LGBTQ+ policy agenda by anti-LGBTQ groups, as noted in the article, is a strategic attack on the #rights and #freedoms of a vulnerable population. It highlights the urgent need for the LGBTQ+ community and #allies to rally together. We must put in the work to change public opinion, rally voters, and counteract the surge in anti-LGBTQ legislation. Our fight is not just for policy changes; it's a battle for hearts and minds to uphold the dignity and rights of every person, irrespective of #GenderIdentity or #SexualOrientation.
