I don't think one-click purchasing (e.g., Amazon), fast fashion and deep-discount apps like Temu/Shein have been DELIBERATELY conditioning us to adopt AI, but I think that's one way it could play out in hundsight. As certain kinds of online shopping become a steadily more throwaway (i.e., less intentful and more compulsive) experience, I think human shoppers won't really have a problem outsourcing the actual act of shopping to an AI agent.
