Microsoft signs a 10.5 GW renewable energy contract with Brookfield to power its data center globally. Given the growth of AI the major tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Meta are driving demand for new data centers. They also have aggressive sustainability goals, like Microsoft being carbon negative by 2030. I expect to see more of these types of deals and a growth of micro grid solution for data center that are struggling to interconnect and secure reliable power in the future. International player that are in both space like Brookfield who is acquiring/acquired Cyxtera, Data4 and Compass Data Center will be one of the major Data Center Developers in the world, coupled with their existing Renewable Energy Platform are well positioned to take advantage of this dynamic. https://lnkd.in/ec2DYpmu
