In 2020, Microsoft set ambitious sustainability targets that require ambitious action. Today marked an important milestone in our journey! Together, Microsoft and Brookfield Asset Management announced a global renewable energy framework agreement to contribute to Microsoft's goal of having 100% of its electricity consumption, 100% of the time, matched by zero carbon energy purchases by 2030. We are excited about the role this partnership will play in accelerating the clean energy transition. Congratulations to Noelle Walsh and the entire Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation team who were instrumental in this initiative!
Bold, leading action on climate change! A model that many others would be wise to follow on both net zero carbon as well as as net positive water commitments! Congratulations!
Exciting news towards Microsoft's sustainability goals. 🌿 Melanie Nakagawa
Congrats Melanie Nakagawa and team! Is Microsoft also planning to purchase RECs for all its APJ datacenters?
