Diversity is a force multiplier for innovation. This month team members focused on the power of storytelling and were encouraged to share their diverse backgrounds during our PRIDE business resource group’s annual leadership forum. My Great Aunt @Ethel Spangler and her best friend @Sharon Marion both retired from Lockheed Martin and on June 7,2024 my Great passed away here in Merritt Island, Florida. After her passing I went into her home to clean up and start packing up her things when I came across all of her awards and letters from working here throughout her many years. One of the most iconic thing(s) that I have are all of her yearly "thank you letters' from the president for everything that she had helped work on that past year. I have over 30 years worth of them starting in the early 70's throughout the 90's. And they are all in their original envelopes with all of the little mementos that were also sent. For instance I have a piece of the challenger, and the letter was regarding the work done on the Hubble telescope that was launched that year, 1990. Pretty cool stuff. But, I just wanted to say that she loved her job there. It was a different time when she started for instance the time they held a beauty contest and Sharon Marion won it, that was one year only contest. Imagine that now, lol.

Man, you guys are so lost. Picture this, Lockheed praises it's Pride agenda rather than capability or talent to create weapon systems that kill enemies of the US quickly and efficiently, and it gets a few hundred likes out of millions of followers. Get a clue. BTW, same same at Northrop. People on the whole aren't buying what you're selling. Stick to your mission, not social projects. Time to kick the DEI and financial crowd out and put the engineers back in charge. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/northrop-grumman-corporation_definingpossible-bravotoourstars-pridemonth-activity-7210033234829619200-gdY2?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android

Thank you as always for recognizing the importance of diversity. During my endorsement interviews (as I campaign to be my city’s first queer commissioner), I often speak of the PRIDE I have in my company - one that is not afraid to show respect for ALL of its employees. #RonDeSatan could learn a thing or two.

Diversity is our strength, for our people, for our customer and most importantly our mission. These people help make Lockheed Martin great!

This perspective is one of the things I have loved about Lockheed Martin throughout my career. The more diverse our teams the more diverse our insights, and as innovators there is really no better path to guarantee success. #WeAreLM
