Together, Allies and partners engage in practical activities such as training, exercises, and defense planning, with the aim of mutual benefit and interest, fostering interoperability and capacity building. As the security landscape changes, NATO's partnerships also evolve. Alliance's Strategic Warfare Development Command, NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT), is working closely with partner nations to shape the future of the Alliance, ensuring that we can meet and overcome common challenges. NATO and friends: a tale of two exercises 17th June 2024 As NATO marks its 75th anniversary, Callum Fraser considers the strategic role of exercises in delivering deterrence in the Euro-Atlantic and Asia-Pacific arenas. As NATO prepares to mark its 75th anniversary against the dark backdrop of the Ukraine conflict, it has just completed its largest and perhaps most significant post-Cold War exercise, Steadfast Defender. On the other side of the world, where strategic clouds are gathering, Australia and the United States are laying plans for the largest and most important edition yet of their main biennial joint training exercise, Talisman Sabre. This will likely also involve the most significant contributions yet by other partner nations, including from Europe. These two major sets of manoeuvres are a reminder of the importance of exercises in delivering defence, deterrence and strategic messaging – demonstrating both will and capability. They also point to the increasingly intertwined security concerns and connections between the Euro-Atlantic and Asia-Pacific theatres.

I wrote this to NATO, but will naturally never receive an answer. This is a real challenge for them, that they cannot "respond" to... "How did that work out for you with hundreds of thousand dead of both Russian and Ukrainian men? Help me and everyone here understand why you went against all agreements with Russia and expanded to the East despite your promises to Putin NOT to do so? Help us understand also why so much military (2-6%) of every member's GDP is necessary for two otherwise peaceful countries, Russia and China, who won't start any wars or invasions if not provoked and if agreements ARE kept by NATO, i.e. no expansion to the East, and no military to Taiwan? The military dimension of the V4 cooperation has been its key element since the platform’s inception when the countries coordinated their efforts to join NATO. As a result of the war in Ukraine and NATO’s policy of adapting to the new security environment, military cooperation among the V4 countries is gaining renewed importance. 🔴 RECAP: #Israel #Palestine (as of 00:00 GMT 10 July) Here are the latest developments: 1- Palestinian death toll from Israel's war on Gaza has risen to 38,243, with 50 people killed in the past 24 hours. Additionally, 88,033 people have been wounded since the start of the war on 7 October. 2- A new investigation by Israeli outlets +972 Magazine and Local Call has found that Israeli soldiers have been shooting Palestinians, including civilians "virtually at will" during their operations in Gaza. 3- Famine has spread through the Gaza Strip, with several more children having died due to malnutrition, a group of independent human rights experts mandated by the UN have said. 4- Israel has lashed out at a UN report that accused Israel of carrying out a “targeted starvation campaign” which has resulted in the deaths of children in Gaza. 5- An ex-bodyguard to Hezbollah's leader and an Iranian commander were killed in an Israeli air strike on a vehicle in the Damascus countryside along the Syria-Lebanon border, according to L'Orient Today. 6- Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has approved a plan to begin drafting ultra-Orthodox Jews into the military. 7- French President Emmanuel Macron lambasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over election interference in the country during a phone call last week, reported Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, citing two sources familiar with the conversation's details. 8- The US military will temporarily reinstall a pier in Gaza on Wednesday to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid. 9- According to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, over 9,600 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem are presently imprisoned in Israeli jails. 🔗 Follow our live coverage of Israel's #warongaza https://lnkd.in/deTBa5s7
