🎧 For any Service Leaders looking to add value, make an impact and boost productivity with #GenAI this year, I recommend listening to the McKinsey Talks Operations podcast. This particular episode on Capturing the Value of GenAI ⬇️ gives a decent overview of what's already possible to do with this rapidly expanding technology. I've said it before, but I really believe that in 2024, those experienced in AI deployment— I call them 'Stormers'—will significantly expand their AI usage within the early stages of service operations. These stages involve identifying customer needs and collecting relevant data. By employing AI at scale, Stormers will improve their inbound communication and service delivery efficiency. Meanwhile, 'Strivers' (those new to AI) will begin their journey by incorporating AI into decision-making processes, focusing on categorizing customer intent and analyzing sentiment. This episode with Iavor Bojinov on improving AI successes is just brilliant. Sobering statistic - Most AI projects fail. Some estimates place the failure rate as high as 80%—almost double the rate of corporate IT project failures a decade ago. From the podcast, a recurring theme is the people side of the endeavour. That's music to our ears at Gagen MacDonald because we focus on the human struggle of change...and that's exactly what an AI transformation is.
