When you're writing fantasy fiction with mythical creatures like dragons, it's super important to set clear rules and lore for these beings in your world. Readers love consistency, so figure out the origins, abilities, and limitations of your mythical creatures early on. Are dragons smart and able to talk and reason, or are they wild and untamable? Do they breathe fire, fly, or have magical powers? Defining these details will help keep your story logical and believable. Also, think about how these creatures interact with other elements in your world, like magic systems, different species, and human societies. This interconnectedness adds depth and richness to your narrative. It's equally important to make sure your mythical creatures have a purpose in your story beyond just being cool. Dragons and other fantastical beings should play meaningful roles in the plot and character development. They can be powerful allies, formidable enemies, or symbolize themes and conflicts. By giving your mythical creatures distinct personalities and roles, you make them a crucial part of the story rather than just background elements. Lastly, grounding their fantastical traits with relatable motivations and emotions can make them more engaging and memorable to readers. Balancing the fantastical with the relatable helps create a compelling and immersive fantasy narrative!

Lovely review of the latest book, Gods of Titan. Especially since "a cocktail of action, humor, and chaos that defies convention and delights the adventurous spirit" is exactly what I aim for in the series. https://lnkd.in/e_QRpphP #writing #sciencefiction #adventure
