Over the last few months, I’ve heard more than one person say that they were taking their first vacation in 3 years, their first vacation in 4 years, their first vacation in a year….. Ummm, take the PTO!!! Life will not wait on work. Work will be fine. Take the PTO! Even if it’s just a staycation, take breaks often. Mark your calendar for having a small break every quarter at least! If you can do it every month, even better. Because your decisions will be better, you won’t be as stressed, and you will enjoy life more. So take the damn PTO! #pto #offline #vacation

All of this. In the realm of not taking PTO, if you work on PTO I am also not impressed. If you answer emails or tag into calls etc., I am not astounded by your dedication to work. As a matter of fact, I am concerned. I am wondering what is going on with you that you can't step away for 5 business days without engaging. Granted, there are a few jobs where people legitimately cannot step away like that but they are few and far between and most of us don't work those jobs. Take your PTO. Actually take your PTO. You and your workplace will be better for it.

Not taking your PTO isn’t the flex you think it is! In fact it shows a lack of boundaries, I’m not impressed. Do better, book a vacation! Work to live, don’t live to work. Note: If you work in an environment that doesn’t allow you to take PTO you should leave! Tell me about a vacation you have planned that’s coming up. #pto #unlimitedvacation #worldofwork

When was the last time you took PTO? 🏖️ Today is the last day of my PTO vacation and I’m honestly sad to see it come to an end (which is typical, lol).. but I would be lying if I said I didn’t 100% need this. 👏🏽✨ I am someone who very rarely if ever takes time off, only because I don’t usually have somewhere planned to go. But you know what? That’s ok! 🛋️ I’ll make a cozy, fun, entertaining vacation right on this couch! Self care is important 🧖🏽♀️ 💆🏽♀️ & that also includes having the opportunity to choose to be lazy, run some fun little errands, go to the beach (like we did), or something bigger or smaller. 🏕️🏔️✈️ Take that time off… you deserve it, you need it, & it’s helpful in a reset for you to take a step back & figure out what it is you want for yourself. 🤍 #selfcarematters #healthylifestyle #communications #inspirationdaily #vacations #selfgrowth #careeradvice

While at face value PTO seems quite simple. You typically get your 2,3,4, or more weeks of vacation to take as you please. A few things to consider, how many holidays does your company/prospective company give off? How flexible is the PTO, if you need to step away for a half day because of an emergency at home, will your company make you take the half day or do they understand life happens? Does your PTO roll over or does it need to be used before the end of the year? All this impacts the true "total" number of days you have or could have. Don't forget to dig deeper #pto #vacation
