🔍 Ever wondered how Google Chrome or other browsers identify malicious websites in a flash? Or how apps like Word or Grammarly quickly catch spelling errors? 🌟 Today we dissect how the browsers detect malicious websites leveraging bloom filters in lightning fast speed in read-heavy systems. 🛠️ I've also implemented a lightweight malicious website detector using bloom filters to test its space efficiency, to simulate how it would perform in a read-heavy system when a specific key is not present in the index. The same implementation can be leveraged for any use cases, like to identify spelling mistakes for a word. Feel free to explore the full analysis in the blog. 1. Using a browser, navigate to the Machine_Matrix page using HTTP port 80 and the machine's IP address discovered from the ARP scan. 2. Inspect the page source of the site. Here, I found an HTTP connection via port 31337 in the src code of the image tag. 3. Try again accessing the site, this time using port 31337. 4. Inspect the page source. Here, I discovered a base64 encoding. Could you copy the code? 5. In terminal, use the command echo <base64_code> | base64 -d to decode the encoded message. #Let's We HackPenetrationTestingInternship
