Every implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP requires some form of a team working on behalf of the client. There are options available i.e either hiring from the market individual SME or engage with a Oracle Cloud Change specialist such as Fusion Practices. We have worked on many sides of the fence, sometimes working on behalf of client helping with solution design and QA of vendors deliverables, and sometimes as system integrator, sometimes as independent tester and sometimes as managed support services partner. The phrase "Oracle EBS to OCI" typically refers to the migration or transition of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) applications to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). OCI is Oracle's cloud computing platform, and organizations may choose to move their on-premises Oracle EBS installations to OCI for various reasons, including scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency. Here are the key steps involved in transitioning Oracle EBS to OCI: 1. Assessment and Planning: Conduct a thorough assessment of your current Oracle EBS environment. Identify the specific EBS modules and components that need to be migrated. Evaluate the resource requirements and potential benefits of moving to OCI. 2. OCI Subscription and Setup: Subscribe to Oracle Cloud and set up the necessary OCI resources. Configure the OCI network, compute, and storage components to match the requirements of Oracle EBS. 3. Data Migration: Plan and execute the migration of your Oracle EBS data to OCI. This may involve transferring databases, application files, and other relevant data. 4. OCI Database Setup: Set up an Oracle Database on OCI that aligns with the requirements of your EBS application. Configure necessary database parameters and settings. 5. Application Deployment: Deploy the Oracle EBS application on OCI. This may involve setting up virtual machines, configuring the application servers, and ensuring proper connectivity to the OCI database. 6. Integration and Testing: Validate the integration between different components of Oracle EBS and OCI. Conduct thorough testing to ensure the migrated application functions correctly and meets performance expectations. 7. Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to safeguard data and access in the OCI environment. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. 8. Monitoring and Optimization: Set up monitoring tools to track the performance of Oracle EBS on OCI. Continuously optimize the OCI resources based on usage patterns and evolving business needs. 9. Training and Documentation: Provide training to IT staff and end-users on the new OCI-based Oracle EBS environment. Document the configuration and setup for future reference and troubleshooting. 10. Go-Live and Post-Migration Support: Plan the cutover to the OCI-based Oracle EBS environment. Provide post-migration support to address any issues and ensure a smooth transition. It's crucial to engage with Oracle's documentation, support resources, and potentially consult with Oracle Cloud experts to ensure a successful migration from Oracle EBS to OCI. Additionally, organizations may consider working with Oracle Cloud partners or consulting services for a streamlined transition process. #oracleebs #oraclefusion #oraclefusioncloud #oraclehcm #oracleconsulting #oracleerp #oraclescm #oracleerpcloud #oracleclouderp #oracle #oraclecloud #oraclefunctional #oraclejobs #oracleintegrationcloud #remotework #onlinework

Last time we looked at creating and deleting PeopleSoft environments with the help of PeopleSoft Cloud Manager. That looked simple right? But how did the PeopleSoft Cloud Manager know what was needed to create that environment? And how did it know how the environment should look like? Well, there is more at work behind the scenes than we showed last time. In this sixth Feature Focus episode we look into topologies and environment templates. The topology defines how many nodes (servers) we like to have in our PeopleSoft environment. Each node performs a certain role, like database, application server, webserver, process scheduler, search stack or Windows-client. A single node can also perform multiple of those roles at the same time. And for each node we specify the shape, number of OCPUs, memory and disk space that should be used to create those resources on OCI. Once the topology is defined we can define an environment template. The environment template serves as the blueprint for PeopleSoft Cloud Manager to provision a new PeopleSoft environment. In the environment template we specify the PeopleSoft image (application) that should be used to create the environment; the passwords that should be used; OCI details like region, availability/fault domain and compartment; networking details and the settings for creating our search stack and the application server, process scheduler and webserver domains. Both, topologies and environment templates, are generally created by the PeopleSoft Cloud Manager administrator. Once properly defined designated users can use those templates to create their own PeopleSoft environments as we showed last week. Find out more about PeopleSoft Cloud Manager in my blog post: https://lnkd.in/e8XSDYS5 Are you planning to start using PeopleSoft Cloud Manager? And want to experience its simplicity yourself? Just contact us for a live demonstration. We can we can demonstrate this anytime live to you! #Oracle #PeopleSoft #CloudManager #OCI #OracleCloud

In this fourth Feature Focus episode we look at two essential elements that are important for any environment; back-up and restore. PeopleSoft Cloud Manager simplifies those operations by automation and self-service actions that could be executed on-demand by designated users. By making back-up and restore operations available as self-service actions your key-users, project members, developers or functional support team members gain the ability to progress faster by giving them the ability to run more destructive or data changing test cases. Now they can back-up a testing environment before a test and restore it afterwards (and repeat, repeat, repeat…) completely on their own. Also, now it is possible to let your (functional) support team members change the frequency of back-ups or run an additional backup without the need to put a request to the DBA team. You also don’t need to worry about storage availability for those back-ups. Although the back-up and restore features of PeopleSoft Cloud Manager simplify your work; it is important to understand that just enabling the back-up feature in PeopleSoft Cloud Manager is not a production ready back-up strategy for mission critical PeopleSoft environments. It’s just the first step of a complete back-up solution. It is also important to note that the restore operation as executed by PeopleSoft Cloud Manager is maybe not entirely what you might expect; based on your previous on-premise experience. PeopleSoft Cloud Manager doesn’t actually restore the compute instances (servers) to a previous point in time. Instead, based on the back-up files, it will instantiate a ‘new’ environment that is an exact copy of the original environment at the time of the back-up. And the original (compute) resources will be terminated on OCI. In that sense it looks a bit more like the cloning operation. The advantage is, that by leveraging those OCI capabilities, the restore process is fast. Smaller environments can be completely restored and operational in about 10 minutes. Find out more about PeopleSoft Cloud Manager in my blog post: https://lnkd.in/e8XSDYS5 You like to see PeopleSoft Cloud Manager live in action? Don’t hesitate to ask us for a demonstration. It’s that simple that we can demonstrate it anytime live to you! Tags: #Oracle #PeopleSoft #CloudManager #OCI #OracleCloud
