This Earth Day, we'd like to celebrate the companies that are succeeding in creating a greener economy. The Midwest and Quebec have a lot to gain from working together if we want to decarbonize our economy. Many companies are already making a positive impact on the environment in the Midwest and we hope to see even more collaboration in the future.   Marmen Welcon, for example, has chosen South Dakota for its wind tower factory. ALTRA - SANEXEN is Working on PFAS clean water solutions in Minnesota. Ecosystem works on building energy efficiency in Ohio. Lion Electric has set up a plant in Illinois for its 100% electric heavy vehicle factory. Congratulations to the Minnesota DNR fleet team for showing significant progress and innovation towards reducing fossil fuel consumption at the agency! Our goal was to reduce fossil fuel usage in our fleet vehicles by 30% by 2027. Since last year (2022), we have already reduced our consumption by 27%! This amazing progress is thanks to the team's approach to prioritize electrical vehicles and equipment first (followed by hybrid, alternative fuels, and gas/diesel as the last option). Now, the focus will be to replace equipment with the lowest possible fossil fuel consumption and continue prioritizing electric and alternative fuel usages. #sustainabilitymatters #innovation #alternativeenergy

This is the simple reason why heavy duty transportation will not go electric anytime soon. A 5-6 truck charging station at any business needs more power than any mid-size industry. There is just not enough power capacity. We also need to distinguish between power and energy. Grid might have enough energy generation but because of short period of charge to allow better vehicle usage rate it means power charging rates become crazy. That is the reason any chagrin station reduces charging speed when all vehicles are charging because they just share the available power. One single truck needs a 750kw charger that could drive a whole industry producing millions of parts a year and having 200 employees.

📰 News: We've co-led Mojave's $12.5 million seed round with At One Ventures. Mojave Energy Systems, Inc. is making air conditioning more sustainable. Their technology cools air using liquid desiccant, a high-concentration salt solution, to extract water from outdoor air and send the resulting cool, dry air into the building. Air conditioning is an essential part of our lives, but it consumes about 10% of global energy. Of the 10%, roughly half goes into cooling the air, and the other half goes into dehumidifying. Mojave is able to decrease the energy requires for dehumidification by up to 90%, which has huge implications for more sustainable real estate and the cost savings that come along with less energy uses and avoided carbon fines.
