For many years, I’ve been shipping orders to Europe and other non-European countries from Siberia and Georgia. But now I’ve started shipping orders from Europe to Europe. It’s a special feeling)). No borders! No customs! It arrives quickly! But at the same time, almost all my previous experience has been reset. I’m just overwhelmed by the completely new postal system, tax system, and payment system. If before it was familiar, smooth, and automated, now every invoice is a new quest)). Not better or worse, just different. And all this against the backdrop of a wave of initial immigrant quests and adaptation difficulties — new products in stores, new schools for the kids, a new language, etc. But what’s interesting is that I’m looking at it all with optimism)). Yes, occasionally I just lie down and pretend to be a dead possum, but still). In the photo: me and another postal service for testing order delivery). #buildinpublic

How can Sweden compete for international talent? This week Sweden won a battle against the Netherlands. 🏆 Context: An exceptional Senior Mobile Developer had 2 offers. One from a company from the Netherlands, and one from a Swedish company. And he chose the Swedish one 🥳. The competition for international talent is VERY real. This time we had an advantage though. The Senior Mobile Developer is my brother in law. The offer was in another city, but he knew a lot more about Sweden. The culture, how things work and what to expect. And will have a bit more of a support network. Which helped him choose Sweden. Which leaves me with 2 questions for every other case: 1- For people looking for talent: How are you getting ahead of the competition? 2- For those who chose Sweden already: Why did YOU choose Sweden?

Founder @ Unstoppable (SaaS GTM Advisory to High Growth CEOs). Co-Founder of ⚡️ and 📣. ex- Bridgewater, ToutApp(a16z), and Marketo(Vista).
Here are 4 things I'm grateful for on this 4th of July... I immigrated to the United States with my family at age 10. Every day, I feel blessed to be here. As an Entrepreneur, SaaS Founder and SaaS GTM Advisor, here are 4 specific reasons why... 1. Merit based society: As an immigrant, it was instilled in me that you are rewarded for the merits of your hard work, not where you come from. For every job I had, every company I started, this became my ethos. Work 10X harder than anyone else, work smart, and they can't ignore you. America still rewards hard work. It paid off really well for me and I'm grateful to be in this kind of environment. It can for you too. 2. Be who you want to be: I consistently met people here in America who were naturally curious about my background and culture. This allowed me to grow up embracing American values while still holding the cultural values from where I came from. This gave me a unique blend of values that meshes East and West. Here in America, you're able to truly be who you want to be in the exact mix you want to be -- and best of all, you'll be able to find your tribe. So find your mix and find your tribe. 3. Silicon Valley: If I was born on any other time than the Internet and Computers, I'd be the village idiot. Thankfully I'm born in a time where I'm able to follow my passions and build software companies. It just happened that America has been and continues to be in the forefront of software innovation. Right as I graduated college, I found myself in Silicon Valley. I'm grateful for this. 4. Diversity: In every company I've built, we had people from all different backgrounds. Humble mid-westerners, hippy Californians, down to earth Texans, Immigrants, Natives, you name it. This consistently made for stronger cultures, stronger teams, and better companies. Most importantly, this created the type of hustle and grit you need to build successful startups. I'm grateful to have this in America. Net-net, on this 4th of July, I'm grateful to be here. It may not be perfect, no where is. America has afforded me many things that I'm incredibly grateful for. Happy Birthday America.
