Yes, it is lonely at the top. And for many senior leaders, this rings true. When you're in a position of authority, people often look to you for: • Answers and Guidance • Inspiration and Motivation • Confidence and Composure • Availability and Accessibility • Empathy and Understanding • Solutions and Decision-making It can be easy for them to forget that behind the title, you're still human. The pressure to always have the right solution and maintain a strong facade can be overwhelming, leading to feelings of isolation and burnout. Having witnessed this struggle with numerous clients, I felt compelled to change the narrative surrounding senior leadership. When I shared my plans with my friend Abigail Wilmore - (FCIPD) Founder, People Flow, she supported an idea I had about 15 months ago and joined me in bringing it to life. This time last week, we hosted our first 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 event, which was an incredible authentic experience. The Download brought together seven remarkable senior leaders ANNE ADIGWE Irene Asare Ivy M Kodjovi Lauren McDonagh Liz Afolabi Louisa Laudham and Nicola Bentley. I enjoy creating spaces, and this was no different. Over a generous spread of food, these leaders had the opportunity to "download" their thoughts, challenges, and triumphs with others who truly understood their unique positions. The event provided a platform for open and honest conversations, allowing the leaders to connect personally and realize that they are not alone.
