With UEFA 2024 European Championship now approaching its conclusion (good luck to Spain and UK for tonight match! ) it worth having a look at how the images of the events have been distributed across different territories, with special reference to resolution and HDR.
As you see from the data, despite the source is 1080p50 HDR, the majority of broadcasters still does not offer their viewership the beauty of native HDR and in some cases some even downscale to 720p.
On the opposite some territories are distributing in 4K upscaled (Italy - via DTH #Tivusat platform - Spain also via DTT, France, some MENA territories and China).
Kudos and credits to Yoeri Geutskens for the excellent effort in putting toghether this interesting research.

“⚽️ #Euro2024 "Final Update" of where to watch in SDR or HDR, in 720p, 1080i, 1080p or 4K; in stereo, 5.1 or Dolby Atmos 5.1.4; on DTT, DTH, cable, IPTV or OTT. Thanks to everyone who contributed!
I've got data on a few more countries in Asia and Latin America, but nothing noteworthy in terms of resolution, dynamic range or audio format.”
