Step 1. reach out to your contacts and make sure you let them know to go and vote tomorrow and vote for James Joseph houston council position at large 3 and share with their contacts as well. Step 2. post to your social media and email contacts that you will be voting for James Joseph Houston City Council Large, Position 3 and you want them to vote for your candidate as well. Step 3. Volunteer at a polling site near you by printing off the campaign literature in black-and-white or color to distribute to voters at the polling location nearest you. Just a quick update from FairVote Washington - Summer may be winding down, but the drumbeat of our country’s out-of-whack-politics only intensified this month. Will there be a presidential SPOILER candidate? Whose votes will the spoiler “siphon away”? Both major parties admonish their voters to fall into line, and they put the screws on candidates who can’t win to drop out. Or else.   Here in Washington, we see the same dynamics, even in local races: candidates face pressure to drop out, voters fear “wasting” their vote, and candidates regularly “win” the primary without broad support.   But this very real problem has a much better solution than threatening candidates and scaring away voters. Ranked-choice voting to the rescue.    In our primary election on August 1st, in races across Washington state, nearly all of our “RCV Champions” advanced to the general election. That means you’ll have more opportunities than ever before to support RCV champions on your November ballot.   We’ll be back in Olympia when the legislative session resumes in January with our two RCV bills (RCV for Presidential Primaries, and the Local Options for RCV bill).
