We always have a choice to make. Simply doing the minimum to check a box is not a game changer, nor is it very interesting. #tbt Playback Op-ed: https://lnkd.in/gUBXz2yC #ChoiceMatters #GameChanger #MindsetMatters #SustainableProduction

Founder at The Experimentation Group | Growing Mobile Games Through Experimentation | Ex. King, Microsoft
Squad Busters in one minute: This week Supercell dropped their first global launch for six years! It's been a while, so what have they cooked up? 🕹 How does it play? -> A very accessible MOBA. -> Each round is 4 minute PvE vs. 9 other players. -> Win by collecting as many gems as possible. -> Do so by building and deploying your squad in the most effective way 🏆 What’s good? -> Looks great, fits perfectly into the Supercell universe -> Very easy to get started -> Lots of depth around strategy (squad building and in-round play) suggests the potential for a game that works long term -> The idea of tapping a chest to unlock it on the level you've earned is pure 👨🎨 🔚 What's not working? -> It might be easy to get started, but the complexity ramps up quickly -> Not easy to understand what each characters' special abilities are and therefore why to pick one over another -> Feels like it might become quite pay-to-win I've really enjoyed it so far, clearly a lot of knowledge has gone into it, so definitely worth finding some time to play.

Probably, one of the most insightful #AVP talks, I have ever watched 3 months ago that you can compare #MetaQuest vs. #VisionPro dev and design workflows. (check our YouTube page for the full version) We are seeing more and more #Unity devs start exploring #Swift and Apple dev ecosystem. If you are one of them and looking for a rapid transition: 3 days left for the "Decoding Swift for Unity Devs" course: https://lnkd.in/gvNTDZTT

Here I am packing for GDC, one of my favorite times of the year, and my mind keeps drifting to my team in Ankara and our shared excitement about the daily open alpha live sessions of Steel Swarm: Apocalypse :) For the last few weeks, SSA is live, and being played by real players, some of whom are seasoned MOBA veterans already playing better than I after such a short time :D Many amazing matches have already happened... and some crazy action-packed moments... I am telling you... It looks and feels like nothing you have seen :) Soon we will start live streaming some games !!! So, I go into some matches during alpha, with the intention of observing how the game works, whether there are issues etc. And every time, I forget all those within 2 minutes, and fully get immersed in the competitiveness and action. And even though I have fallen back since, for a brief, glorious moment, I was Number 2 in ELO rankings, people :D Let that never be forgotten :D So, my dear GDC peeps, if you see me distracted between 10 am and 1pm in San Fransisco, my mind is likely occupied by: a) how the game is going for the players b) how the live ops is going for the engineers c) how I can get better at playing SSA, so I can keep up with these talented, fast learning, special group of players we have (have I mentioned how competitive I am?) (hail to my fellow Sphinx pilots!!! may we never have to face Insolence 1:1!!!)

The HungerMap by the World Food Programme (WFP) showcases global food (in)security and its contributing factors, including conflict. Conflicts have many facets and influences, which underscores the necessity for a comprehensive approach. Considering the goal of the InterGames Project, which aims to address conflict through computer games in education, it is important to take a broad perspective. You can explore the map here: https://hungermap.wfp.org/ #intergames #ErasmusPlus #interdisciplinarity #EuropeanUnion #videogames #conflict
