Doing a dialogue scene practice with the same workflow but this time the sets were made in Blender because of some cool add-ons that I wanted to try (also aiming to learn geometry nodes!) #wip #unrealengine #storyboard #epos

After countless hours of learning, coding, and designing, I'm thrilled to present the playthrough of my first-ever game developed in Unreal Engine 5, titled 'Whispers in the Cemetery of Forgotten Books.' 📖🕯 This game was presented as a capstone project for the Game Development Bootcamp by CG Spectrum and the Saudi Digital Academy, and was inspired by one of my favorite books, 'The Shadow of the Wind.'. The adventure revolves around exploring a magical library and facing challenges along the way. To bring the rich, detailed environment of the library to life, I utilized assets and characters from Quixel, the UE Marketplace, and Sketchfab. Making this game was challenging, but it was also a great learning experience and a lot of fun. ✨ #GameDevelopment #LevelDesign #UnrealEngine #SDA #GamingCommunity https://lnkd.in/dqBB74AM

Let's Build: How to #code a #videogame Start Screen in #scratch In this #technology #tutorial, we learn how to #code a #videogame start screen in #scratch. We do this by clicking on an existing sprite (DA logo) and then broadcasting 'Start Game' message that begins the #videogame. This is an easy way to start a #videogame without having to press the green flag in #scratch. https://lnkd.in/gBj5vs7y

Destroy(this) vs Destroy(gameObject) Today, I participated in a discussion about quizzes with our content team and Mayank Grover. We discussed the types of quizzes and the types of questions we should create. Mayank Grover posed a question as an example during the discussion, to which I initially wasn't sure of the right answer. However, I attempted to answer the question. At the time, I thought simply using gameObject was what we needed to delete in Unity. But what if we wanted to delete the script component attached to the GameObject? Considering that a GameObject is like a container where we attach scripts as components, how would you go about deleting that script component specifically? The answer lies in using Destroy(this), of course. Thanks Outscal team : Mayank Grover, Mridul Agrawal , Arindam Bharati clan-mates : babit kodali, Vastav Pansuriya, Yashvardhan singh, Reyansh Soni #BuildInPublic

Five Hats Episode 7. Thinking about game loops can get messy. Flowchart diagrams can make all points on a loop seem equally important and disconnects prevalence from importance. So, in this Designer video, we’ll explore game loops and a new framework for understanding our mechanics along hierarchies of needs. #gamedev #ue5 #design #loops #Gamedesign #jobseeker #lfw #unreal #maslow
