While many are saying Apple is behind with these new features I don’t think it matters. This is the path to mass adoption of Gen AI. People have to have it at their fingertips and see how useful it is. When you can ask Siri something and start to get more useful responses all of a sudden you will be using Gen AI and won’t even think about it. This is how it has always worked. Most people don’t actively seek out new tech for the sake of it. They are busy with their day to day lives so they look for opportunities to make things easier and more convenient. Once the tech is easily accessible the value becomes clear and adoption grows. AI is just an improvement of software just as software is an innovation over pen and paper It’s always about what the tech can do for people and not the tech itself. https://lnkd.in/eUUmKs6m

One thing is sure: AI is here, is useful and is going to be one of the most radical innovations in the history of technological (and social) development. The point is, what is AI exactly? What are the technologies, and what are the applications? Which of these applications will be sustainable in the long term from an economic and environmental point of view? Here is where I feel there's lack of clarity. Those who have a clearer idea about the technology are just guessing how to integrate it in a profitable way into our daily lives, and those in the end-user business are desperately waiting for it to come, but actually have no idea what AI actually is. The first release of ChatGPT was the key to the lid of Pandora's vase. The technology is developing fast, and there's enormous pressure to deploy it in the market. In this scenario, it's possible to have big successes but also to make missteps. I don’t think the real question is "AI technology is ready for the market and society?", but "are market and society ready for AI"? I feel they are not, at least not to the extent the current hype in the market is today. So, is this from Apple a misstep? I really have no idea. I don't have the competence either on the technology side or the market side to comment one way or the other. However, the feeling I have is that due to the pressure from the market situation and the technological pressure from Microsoft-OpenAI, Apple rushed this step in a way they never have before, not on a technological innovation of this scale. Future will tell, one way or the other is going to be one heck of a ride! #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Apple #OpenAI #Innovation #Creativity #LLM

Apple Intelligence: The Next Wave of Diffusion in AI? Apple's strategies and decisions have consistently led to massive shifts. Now, with the announcement of Apple Intelligence, AI is set to become deeply integrated into our lives in a more seamless way than we've witnessed so far. When Apple employs its market forces towards a change, we've seen the significant impact it can have. Remember the sudden disappearance of Adobe Flash from the internet (RIP MiniClip games) or the audio jack from our phones (barring few exceptions)? Apple Intelligence is considered to be the next facilitating factor of integrating AI seamlessly across the device ecosystem and, by extension, our society. The tools that currently exist as isolated services, which have to be more or less actively selected for use, are well on their way to becoming second nature. Of course, Apple isn't alone in this; the likes of Google (will we see an "Android Intelligence"?) are also following suit, further signaling the massive shift in technology reach of AI. Key Points Driving AI Diffusion: 📱💻 Integrated Ecosystem: Smooth, intuitive interactions across all devices. 🔒 Privacy and Security: High standards of data protection. 🌍 Accessibility: Advanced AI accessible to everyone, not just tech experts or enthusiasts. 👥 User-Centric Design: Intuitive and easy-to-use AI solutions. In an industry-specific perspective, it is very telling and unique that Apple is betting their efforts on their own offerings (Apple-run and led data centers) but at the same time partnering with the incumbent of today, OpenAI with their ChatGPT. Apple is usually known to pursue either one or the other, but not both at the same time. What are your thoughts on Apple’s latest move into AI? Do you think Apple Intelligence has the potential to disrupt the AI landscape? Let’s discuss and explore! #AppleIntelligence #AI #TechInnovation #FutureOfAI #Apple Disclaimer: Please note that the views and opinions expressed in these posts are my own and not necessarily those of my employer.

Apple's acquisition of Datakalab, a French AI startup, is a strategic move that could shape the future of artificial intelligence and the way we interact with our devices. By integrating Datakalab's technology, Apple aims to offer AI features that are faster, more secure, and more respectful of personal data, aligning with their focus on privacy and security. This could lead to iPhones and iPads becoming super-smart assistants capable of summarising emails, creating perfect playlists, and recognising faces in photos with unparalleled accuracy. Apple's approach to prioritising on-device AI processing sets them apart from competitors like Google and Microsoft, suggesting a belief that AI should work for the user, not the other way around. However, this approach also comes with trade-offs, as on-device AI might be less powerful than cloud-based AI in some cases. The acquisition sparks an important conversation about the role of AI in our lives and how we can shape its development in a responsible, user-centric way. It challenges us to think critically about the implications of our choices and to stay focused on our values and goals as we navigate the complex landscape of AI ethics and responsible AI. Ultimately, the future of AI is about more than just smarter devices or faster algorithms; it's about the choices we make and the values we uphold as a society. Apple's acquisition of Datakalab serves as a powerful reminder of this fact and an invitation to dream big and build a more human-centric future. #HumanCentricAI #InnovationForGood #AppleAI #AIStrategy #SmartDevices #AIEthics #ResponsibleAI

Chat GPT and Apple: The hot new AI combo? 🔥 The internet is full of news about new Apple's AI strategy. It's interesting to take a step back and understand how their strategy is built on a broad perspective. Following in the footsteps of Google and Microsoft, Apple has rolled out a variety of AI features. The state of AI on our phones is not very impressive currently. So, Apple is targeting improvements to the Daily Assistant. This is the opportunity to finally meet the expectations set by virtual assistants in the past ten years. I still think about the worthless Bixby button on my Samsung S8... Here, Apple holds a big advantage: they control both the software and hardware. And they’re also teaming up with one of the top AI solutions: OpenAI. Therefore, even though Apple is late to the AI game, they have significant potential to disrupt the market. I can’t wait to try out this new AI solutions! Sources: Niels | Apple & iPhone Expert on Instagram / The Verge Nozha I Andy

🚀 Exciting developments in the world of AI! Apple's recent integration of artificial intelligence into its products marks a significant milestone for the industry. 🍎 The introduction of Apple Intelligence and the partnership with OpenAI's ChatGPT showcases the growing trend of personalized AI assistants that can seamlessly blend personal data with vast "world knowledge." This combination has the potential to revolutionize user experiences across various domains, from productivity to entertainment. 📱💻 However, as AI becomes more deeply integrated into our daily lives, the issue of privacy takes center stage. 🔒 Apple's claim of a breakthrough in privacy with its Private Cloud Compute architecture is a step in the right direction. By ensuring that user data is never stored or accessible to the company, Apple sets a new standard for responsible AI deployment. 👏 That being said, the revelation of Apple scraping public internet data for training its proprietary models raises important questions about the ethical use of human work in AI development. 🤔 As an industry, we must address these concerns head-on and establish clear guidelines to ensure fair compensation and attribution for individuals whose work contributes to the advancement of AI. 📜 This development also highlights the increasing importance of transparency and accountability in AI systems. As users entrust more of their personal data to AI-powered services, companies must prioritize building trust through open communication and robust privacy safeguards. 🤝 I believe Apple's move will accelerate the adoption of AI in consumer products and inspire further innovation across the industry. However, it also serves as a reminder that we must navigate this exciting frontier responsibly, prioritizing user privacy and ethical considerations at every step. 🧭 What are your thoughts on the implications of Apple's AI integration? Apple Intelligence = Design Thinking + AI While it’s easy to justify the #hypecycle for #genAI (at Cylerity we’ve added talent to develop the potential within healthcare-focused fintech), #AppleIntelligence is bridging the gap between novel technology demonstrator and human-centered application in a way that Apple seems uniquely able. Seeing this makes me even more bullish on #DesignThinking. The ability to contextualize the “what” of AI’s potential into the “why” and “how” of design thinking gives us new approaches to addressing the most important challenges we face as individuals, businesses, and communities. How’s Apple considered to be behind the eighth ball on AI? It’s a consumer facing company. Other than charging an additional amount for the connected devices, how can it recoup the exhorbitabt cost? Besides, I doubt that any MAGA7 has a substantial lead over Apple in AI, in its current form. AI in its current form requires substantial domain expertise to be really useful. I admit Gen AI is a better productivity enhancer, for my skill set, when compared with Excel, e.g.
