What are opportunities in Salesforce?
- [Instructor] Opportunities is one of the most important features of Salesforce. Opportunity records are where we track all the details related to a potential sale. Opportunity data for your company is also aggregated into reports. This is the data used to create pipeline reports for revenue forecasting. In many ways, opportunities may be the core reason your company uses Salesforce. So let's start by taking a look at the type of data that's tracked on an opportunity. I'm showing an opportunity record for my customer KinetEco. I can see some important information highlighted in this top area. I see the name I gave this potential deal. The name of the customer account is listed here along with the close date, the amount of this potential deal, and the name of the rep working this deal here in the owner field.
