How to add contacts to accounts

- [Instructor] Let's take a look at how to add business contacts to Salesforce. First, we always search before we add any data to Salesforce. You do not want to duplicate an existing contact or lead. If the account record is already in Salesforce and you just need to add details for your specific contact, there are a few ways to do that. The most common is to navigate to the account record. And from the Related tab, find the section for contacts, click on the New button. This will bring up a blank contact record page. Populate all the fields that you can. The contact record is where you store this person's email address, direct phone number, their title, all the details about this person and their role in this company. Any field with the tiny red asterisk is required. And when you're done, click Save. You'll see a green confirmation banner and the new contact will be listed in the contacts related list.
