- [Instructor] Two relatively new functions in Excel, 2 BYROW and BYCOL, are part of a series of functions, 3 often referred to as Lambda helper functions. 4 If you want more information on the Lambda concept 5 and the associated functions, 6 you probably want to take a look, 7 and I've got a link here on the second worksheet Lambda, 8 at this website here. 9 Now, what I'm about to show you ultimately does involve 10 some programming concepts, 11 but that's not critical here. 12 The main idea is how productive these functions can be 13 and how much we can analyze information for a series of rows 14 or a series of columns with just a single formula, 15 a single function. 16 Let's start with BYROW. 17 We want to analyze all this data here, row by row. 18 With a single formula, that's simply going to do something, 19 at least initially, very simple. 20 We're simply going to add up the data for each month. 21 That's…
