- In this week's weekly tip, we're going to show you 2 how you can use conditional formatting, 3 not simply as a presentation tool, 4 although it's certainly valuable in that sense, 5 but also as an analytical tool. 6 As we look at this particular worksheet, 7 notice how it's covering sales entries month by month, 8 starting in 2010, all the way into 2023. 9 It is handy to know, it's useful to know 10 for any given month. 11 We know if it's larger than the previous month. 12 And it gives us some insight into this operation. 13 Imagine a small business, 14 maybe you started out of your home, 15 maybe it's gotten a bit bigger now, 16 you've got an office and so on, 17 and you just want to keep track of things. 18 And you also want to know for any given year, 19 which month is the highest. 20 And rather than writing complex formulas, 21 we can do this with conditional formatting. 22 And so the rules are in effect here…
