- [Instructor] Excel's XLOOKUP and XMATCH functions are both powerful tools that were introduced in Excel 2019. Not everybody has used these, possibly have an older version of Excel. But you might be using VLOOKUP. It's going to be better most of the time to use XLOOKUP. If using match, XMATCH has some advantages as well too. We've got two different lists on this worksheet. Possibly they would exist in different worksheets, maybe even in different workbooks. We'd like to get the salary over in column D. Based on the information, we've got people's names, we've got their ID numbers. The other list has people's names, doesn't have ID numbers. but does have the salary. So, if we were using VLOOKUP, and let me zoom in on this a bit. Hold down Control and the mouse wheel. =vl, tab it into place. We're looking up the data. Now, as we look at the names, we have to construct a name that would look something like Reeves…
