- [Instructor] Among the many 450 or so functions in Excel 2 are a number of them devoted to joining text. 3 We do that with functions like TEXTJOIN and CONCAT. 4 They're referenced over in column P, 5 but we want to do essentially the opposite. 6 We want to use what could be called a function called Split, 7 but there is no function like that. 8 And what we're doing isn't necessarily 9 the best way to achieve our objective, 10 which is to take the data in column A 11 and break it into pieces. 12 And one way to do this could be without functions at all, 13 selecting the data in column A. 14 We could go to the Data tab up in the ribbon 15 and use a function called Text to Columns. 16 But the way we're going to be showing you 17 is based on what we're seeing in this blue shadow box. 18 And the heart of that is using a function called SEQUENCE. 19 Not everybody will have this, 20 it was introduced two years ago 21 and I…
