- [Instructor] Excel is a category 2 of functions called database functions 3 and they're listed over in column J. 4 They all begin with a letter D. 5 The ones you're more likely to use at least initially will 6 be DSUM and DAVERAGE probably, 7 listed the others here alphabetically. 8 Oddly enough, if you're trying to track down functions, 9 we go to the formulas tab 10 and yet these functions you cannot find. 11 It seems like maybe they should be statistical 12 or possibly information. 13 We don't see them there. Could they be lookup and reference? 14 No, they're not there either. 15 They're not under math and trig. 16 Nevertheless, they exist and they work. 17 And perhaps it's because there are other functions 18 that might perform some of these features more readily 19 and they also rely upon a feature 20 that you might not be familiar with found on the data tab. 21 It's called the advanced filter. 22 But let's…
