- [Instructor] There's no question that pie charts can have 2 great eye appeal and add coloring to a worksheet. 3 There are a couple problems though. 4 And on this worksheet here, 5 we're seeing two different pie charts, 6 a three dimensional pie chart with the blue background 7 and a two dimensional with the green background. 8 And I tend to favor the two dimensional ones 9 even though they're perhaps visually not as interesting. 10 But we've got a problem 11 because both of these charts are based on some data. 12 A pie chart ideally shows pieces of the pie 13 that add up to a hundred percent. 14 I often see them being used with budgets. 15 Here's our yearly budget, 16 here's how we're spending it, 17 broken into six or seven different functions perhaps. 18 When you have many pieces of the pie, 19 and let's say that in this case 20 the pie might be approaching that 21 or if you have many small pieces, 22 the…
