- If you're trying to accentuate data, 2 two different formatting features in Excel 3 might come to mind. 4 One is called conditional formatting, 5 another one is what we call a spark line. 6 And I wouldn't necessarily say you'd be using them together, 7 but on this worksheet we're seeing examples of each. 8 I've got a list of profits that I'm highlighting right here, 9 and you'll notice of course, how could you miss it, 10 that some of the cells have a red background. 11 And after looking at this for a bit, 12 you probably figure out every time we see a red background, 13 that monthly entry is lower than the previous month. 14 And you might also recognize that wherever you see an entry 15 that's bold and italic, that's the highest month of the year 16 for that particular region. 17 Now, there are any number of different other kinds 18 of formatting that we could consider here, 19 but we don't want to go overboard with…
