- [Instructor] When you're ready to make sense out of seemingly random data like these transactions here, then it's time to start building a PivotTable. Let's walk through the process. First, click inside the data, and then on the insert tab, click PivotTable, and then from table range. For this first box here, we actually don't have to do anything because it picked up on the table we made earlier, and you can see that with this selection here, and that's great. We'll just move forward. So for this option, Excel defaulted to the new worksheet, but I'm going to choose existing worksheet because I want it right up here, and I'm going to then select the cell where I want the PivotTable to land, and that's F4. And again, it just picked up that selection here, put that address there for me. All I'm going to do now is I'm just going to click okay. I've got an empty PivotTable here.
