What you’ll do:
As a Defense Program Analyst on the National Security team, you will be leading and supporting early-stage company advisory and consulting engagements as well as supporting national security focused accelerator programs. This will include managing key stakeholder relationships, technical due diligence, and making recommendations for future R&D, IP, communication, external partnerships, pitch deck gap analysis and technology commercialization strategies.
A typical workday will include:
Interviewing subject matter experts and technical teams to establish a clear understanding of early-stage companies, their core technology, their value proposition, as well as their current R&D and commercialization strategies
Assessing technologies against market demands. Envision and roadmap potential applications of emerging technologies and build actionable strategic recommendations for startups to accelerate the commercialization and impact of their technologies
Synthesizing research findings, craft and clearly present technological and market evaluations and strategic recommendations for startups to progress from research and development to successful commercial deployment
Planning, resourcing, and overseeing a 3–6 month cohort-based accelerator program for deep tech startups. This includes actively managing the program's budgets, project plans, and client relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
Coordinating and collaborating with partner organizations to collect expert inputs and review competition to establish a holistic view of a company, its technology and market opportunities
Communicating complex technical and scientific topics with polished business communication skills on a daily basis
Building strong relationships with industry experts, entrepreneurs, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders at partner organizations, as well as technical, financial and legal advisors
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
4-7 years of full-time experience in entrepreneur consulting or research and development areas. 1-2 years of experience working with US government agencies, or major defense contractors is a bonus
Completion of a bachelor's degree majoring in business or STEM
Experience managing stakeholder relationships and taking responsibility for client facing deliverables
Ability to critically think and synthesize vast amounts of disparate information into a coherent message and actionable recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead calls, write technical reports, edit proposals, and proactively manage professional communications
Strong attention to detail and a consistent track record of delivering projects on time
Independence and drive, requiring little direct supervision while staying focused on the success of our clients and portfolio companies
A basic understanding of the non-dilutive funding ecosystem within the US, including SBIR/STTR contract and CRADAs

Compensation:
Base salary range - $65K-100K based on skills, qualifications and experience
Ability to earn upside bonus and equity, rapid career progression

This job can be done remotely OR set up as a hybrid arrangement (3 days in person at our headquarters in Arlington, VA and 2 days remote).
