Payrate: $25 ~ $28/hour (depending on experience)

Work Schedule: Monday ~ Friday* | 9am ~ 5pm*

  • This position must accommodate a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, special events, and occasional off-site travel.

Summary

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for assisting with sales operations for event space rental at both Wings Over the Rockies locations. This position will promote Wings Museum as an event destination, service clients, manage the contract process, and provide day-of-event facilitation as needed. The Sales Account Manager reports to the Director of Corporate Sales & Events and works closely with our Corporate Events Coordinators, Events Managers, and inter-departmentally across the entire organization with members of Development, Facilities, Visitor Services, and Education.

Organization

Founded in 1994 on the former Lowry Air Force Base in east Denver's historic Lowry Field neighborhood, Wings Over the Rockies is a non-profit community organization dedicated to unlocking dreams of flight through exhibits, local events, and educational programming. We are Colorado’s official Air & Space Museum having been recognized by CNN Travel as one of their 20 Best aviation museums in the world. Each year we welcome roughly 160,000 visitors representing all 50 states and dozens of countries internationally. Wings is committed to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. The Museum boasts more than 100,000 sq. ft. of open hangar space full of iconic aircraft, space vehicles, historical artifacts, and more. Exploration of Flight (EoF) is our flight-focused educational extension. This 15-acre campus is located at the Centennial Airport where we offer showcase events with a variety of aircraft, aviation immersion programs, pilot ground training, and flight experiences. EoF is home to our Blue Sky Gallery exhibit and interactive aviation center featuring an airworthy fleet of civilian and military aircraft.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Respond to all online, email, and phone leads within 24 hours of receipt
  • Manage the Corporate Events department group voicemail and shared email inbox
  • Generate and acquire signatures for event contracts
  • Update and negotiate contracts to abide Wings policies and practices
  • Conduct initial site visits at both locations with potential clients
  • Cultivate relationships with existing clients to promote Wings Museum and gain repeat business
  • Assist with the planning and facilitation of Wings-sponsored events such as Hauntings in the Hangar, Santa in the Hangar, etc.
  • Utilize event planning and scheduling software such as Tripleseat, Social Tables, etc.
  • Track, receive, and collect event deposits and payments

Working Conditions

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum operates in an 80-year-old aircraft hangar. Exploration of Flight is located at a busy regional airport. Environmental conditions may vary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years in the events industry, to include at least one (1) year in events sales
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or communication preferred
  • Working knowledge of Altru (Blackbaud) is highly desirable
  • Excellent written, in-person, phone skills, and public speaking abilities
  • Positive personality with exceptional customer service skills
  • Able to navigate 100,000 sq. ft. of floor space in all environmental conditions (cold/hot/humid/dry) for up to 8 hours/day
  • Highly self-motivated, able to take the initiative, energetic, innovative, outcome-oriented
  • Able to prioritize workloads and capable of working efficiently without immediate supervision
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and time management skills
  • Able to multi-task and communicate effectively in noisy, crowded, or stressful environments
  • Strong interpersonal communicator; must be a team player able to work with diverse groups and individuals
  • Able to deal professionally and sensitively with a diverse clientele and range of contacts at different levels
  • Computer proficient with MS Office 365 suite, Google Workspace, etc.
  • Skilled in negotiation, planning, and logistics
  • Familiarity with the non-profit mission of Wings Museum including exhibits and programs
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
