Quality Assurance Analyst

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience in QA, specifically within the insurance sector. As a QA Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our insurance products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and design effective test plans.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure the quality of insurance systems and applications.
• Conduct functional, regression, and integration testing on insurance software products.
• Identify and report defects clearly and effectively, working with development teams to resolve identified issues before release.
• Analyze test results and propose process improvements to elevate quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure quality deliverables.
• Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential issues.
• Experience with API testing tools and frameworks.
• Experience with databases and SQL queries will be a plus.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Certifications such as ISTQB are a plus.
• Familiarity with different SDLC models (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, DevOps) and their implications for QA processes.
• Experience in manual testing and automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG) to streamline repetitive testing tasks and improve test efficiency
• Skills in identifying, reporting, and tracking defects using defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla, Niftypm) throughout the software development process
• Understanding of industry standards and best practices related to quality assurance and software testing
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and provide recommendations for resolution or mitigation
• Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, methodologies, and business requirements in the QA and software testing domain
• Willingness to continuously learn and improve QA skills through self-study, training, and professional development opportunities
• Understanding of HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) and API authentication mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, Basic Auth)
• Understanding of security principles related to authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps for automated build, test, and deployment processes
• Ability to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to achieve continuous testing and faster feedback cycles
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git or SVN for managing source code, test scripts, and test data
• Knowledge of branching strategies, pull requests, and merge processes in a collaborative development environment
