About The Position

The Fresh Market currently has an opening for a Purchasing Specialist in our Store Support Center (099). This position will be responsible for purchasing equipment for new stores/remodels and special projects. The successful candidate will be a strong team player possessing excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, and be adaptable to a fast-paced, challenging environment. This position will report to the Purchasing Manager and will provide ample opportunity for learning, growth, and for advancement.

What You'll Do

• Scheduling deliveries for new stores, remodels, special projects, and equipment replacements in existing stores.
• Provide follow up support for deliveries.
• Tracking deliveries.
• Placing equipment purchase orders.
• Receiving and vetting equipment quotes.
• Identify and research prospective suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance to resolve issues.
• Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inventory counts.
• Warranty support.
• Damage claims.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 1-3 years purchasing experience
• Ability to work & communicate at many different levels within our organization as well as across functional areas including Merchants, Operations, Construction, & Accounting).
• Experience in Purchase Order systems preferrably Coupa.
• Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
• Highly motivated, creative individual, who thinks strategically and possesses strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage several projects at the same time.

• Previous experience in a retail environment.
• Ability to stay organized.
