Provide administrative support for the Office of the Client in Boston. This role involves reviewing and approving online applications to authorize the release of a decedent to a funeral home.
Training
Three weeks of training, Monday through Friday, will be required before transitioning to the Tuesday-Saturday schedule. In-person attendance is mandatory; this is not a remote position.
Duties & Responsibilities
Receive, process, and approve funeral home applications for decedent release through the online Decedent Release Portal, following standard operating procedures.
Release certified death records to the appropriate funeral home via the electronic death registration system (VIP/MAVRIC).
Communicate discrepancies in decedent demographic or legal next of kin/claimant information to OCME medicolegal investigators for review.
Document all case release information in the client system and ensure all required documents and forms are electronically attached for printing and filing.
