Manufacturing Manager

Emerge, in collaboration with a prominent contract manufacturer in Rochester, NY is seeking a skilled manufacturing manager. This role involves leading assigned departments to ensure all team members meet customer demands and continuously improve quality, cost-effectiveness, and delivery performance.

Responsibilities:

• Safety Leadership: Ensure all associates are trained and follow safety procedures rigorously. Collaborate with engineering and safety manager to enhance process ergonomics.
• Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to optimize CNC and Press Brake operations, aiming to enhance product quality and meet customer specifications. Coordinate closely with the quality department.
• Production Coordination: Work with planning and production control teams to achieve production schedules. Make decisions on weekly scheduling and overtime to meet customer demands, gaining senior management approval as needed.
• Manufacturing Efficiency: Ensure smooth flow of products through departments using ERP systems. Drive productivity improvements through efficient use of labor and continuous process enhancements in collaboration with engineering.
• Budget Management: Control spending within annual department budgets. Participate in the budgeting process to ensure accuracy.
• Leadership and Development: Provide leadership, coaching, and evaluations to group leaders and associates. Ensure all team members are appropriately trained.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage a team of 10 to 25 direct labor associates, adhering to organizational policies and legal requirements for supervision, including hiring and training.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred
• 10 to 15 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of operations management and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Internet Explorer, design and development software, human resources and inventory management software. Familiarity and comfort with Manufacturing ERP and Project Management software.
