Job Description

The USA Network, SYFY and Oxygen True Crime social marketing team is seeking a socially driven Manager with established experience in all aspects of social media marketing. This candidate should have a passion and knowledge of shows across the unscripted and scripted TV genres from reality competitions to WWE, true crime docs, science fiction, and premium scripted series.

Our ideal candidate lives and breathes a social-first philosophy to tackling marketing priorities that embrace outside the box thinking, deliver owned & operated platform growth and ideate thumb-stopping content and opportunities. They will lead brand/campaign social strategies, content calendar rollouts and scheduling, performance learnings, creative insights, cross-departmental communications and external partner relationships to ensure plans are executed across key social platforms. This proactive candidate is also comfortable in gathering and analyzing performance data in real-time to test, learn and develop strategies that deliver growth in social KPIs.

Responsibilities

This person will collaborate closely with the Director, Social Marketing to:

  • Plan, create and execute the social marketing strategies in support of the show/initiative goals and KPIs on platforms like Instagram, Threads, TikTok, Facebook and X.
  • Develop and implement strategies which focus on driving tune-in, reach, and earned media through social conversation, fan communities, social press, partnerships and platform tools.
  • Regularly analyze, package and share performance insights to improve content creation, best practices and brand values.
  • Partner closely with various members of the team to manage owned social handles to ensure output aligns with established objectives and brand health needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships, processes and project timelines with internal teams across Creative, Media, Brand, Talent Relations and Communications, as well as with external partners to fully execute social strategies, paid media buys and business driving priorities.
  • Ideate, provide feedback and coordinate social deliverables that support marketing campaigns and sales opportunities across USA, SYFY and Oxygen True Crime properties.
  • Manage the daily coverage of our brands and shows’ social support throughout the pre-premiere, premiere day and in-season phases.
  • Help establish distinct, authentic social voices that enhance each network and respective titles.
  • Collaborate closely with talent and their representatives, studios and producers to execute social activations and support from their owned handles.
  • Oversee the delegation of responsibilities and professional development of a direct report.
  • Potential opportunity to provide social marketing support across the other NBCU brands.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of social media marketing experience.
  • Intimate understanding of social media space, emerging tools, platform tips & tricks, real-time trends and copywriting.
  • Well-versed in social media content creation and ideation, up to date on trends and the latest content types being created in the social / entertainment industry space.
  • Adept in a variety of social publishing, analytics and reporting tools like Dash Hudson, Sprout Social and Talkwalker.
  • Familiarity in using Photoshop, Premiere, Powerpoint, Meta Business Manager and Airtable.
  • Experience in capturing social content during production, marketing shoots and on-site activations.
  • Supervised a direct report.
  • Availability to work long hours, weeknights and on weekends with short notice.
  • Must be located within commutable distance of NBCU offices in NYC or Los Angeles.

Desired Characteristics

  • Deep passion for social media, emerging tech, online fan communities, short-form content marketing, and television/film.
  • Self-starter with an attention to detail and presence in the room (virtual and in person).
  • Expert communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience in communicating strategies, reporting and concepts with senior team members.
  • Superior organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Able to work effectively and proactively with creative individuals, show production teams, development executives, platform reps, sales executives, and other key stakeholders.
  • Equipped to thrive and stand out in the fast-paced TV and social environment while managing multiple projects and tasks at the same time while also maintaining the highest quality.

Additional Requirements

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 (bonus eligible)
