Inventory and Demand Planner (Apparel Industry)

Job Description

Overview: We are an established brand with start-up mentality seeking a seasoned Inventory and Demand Planner with over 5 years of experience in the apparel industry to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a numbers person who is well-versed in all steps of apparel production from scheduling raw goods/fabric sourcing needs through all steps of apparel production to insure timely shipments. Your expertise in production scheduling, inventory management, and data analytics will drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness across our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze sales and production metrics, such as cycle time, lead time, and capacity utilization, to drive production and related initiatives.
• Implement and utilize advanced data analytics and forecasting tools to predict demand patterns, optimize production capacity, and identify areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with raw goods suppliers, cutting, marking, and sewing vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely availability of materials, resources, and final products.
• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand while maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.
• Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders as needed to prevent stockouts and optimize working capital.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, quality assurance, and logistics to streamline processes and resolve issues.
• Ensure and maintain high levels of product quality.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and actionable insights.
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in production planning within the apparel industry, with a strong understanding of garment manufacturing processes.
• High proficiency in data analysis and reporting using Excel, SQL, or other analytics tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MRP systems), and
  
  

certification in production and inventory management (e.g., APICS CPIM) is a plus.
